my friend came across this thread about upper engine cleaner

and he swears buy's it now said it makes the car feel so much better and better fuel economy now and now i would like to ask

were could i get this for a nissan or can i just use the same subaru one

also how to i get this stuff into the skyline engine meaning the RB25DET engine and the RB20 engine ??? a picture would be helpfull

on the rb25det you could put it in the pcv inlet to the plenum.

autobarn have it I beleive..... however it may not be of as much of a benefit as the boxer engine....don't UAS do something similar in a major service?

its just throttle body/carby cleaner, on my subaru it didnt make much difference what so ever. wynns or nulon make a really good carby cleaner. just spray some around the throttle butterfly, open it up and spray some down the throttle, then disconnect one of the vacuum lines at either end... say... the fuel pressure reg hose and the charcoal cannister hose one at a time and spray some in there, then start the car, it will run rough as, give it a rev till it comes good, then disconnect one of the hoses and spra it in while revving the engine, then do it at the other end... it will run like a pig again, and then come good.

you could also get a bottle of fuel injector cleaner, put it in a clear drinking bottle, then remove the brake booster hose and stick it in the bottle while revving the engine. it cleans it out good too.

ive done it to a lot of cars, and sometimes they bellow out white smoke, massive amounts, they run sweet after its done though. i did it to a mates supra, he knows nothing about cars, it started chugging and running rough and then blew out smoke, he thought i ****ed it. crazy kid, he was freaking out. came good and went heaps better.

subaru recommend it be done at every service, so if your mate had never heard about it until now, then it may have made a difference to his. but when its done all the time, it makes no difference at all.

We have a 02 Subaru STi at home here and use Subaru Upper Engine Cleaner every 10k and it does feel like it makes the car better every time we use it. It does seem to clean up the Inlet Manifold and Combustion Chamber.

I used this on my car and its the best $17 i ever spent. Once the car hits boost it doesnt die down till red line and stays on hard, not like it use to where it would die down near red line. the cars idle is now stable and idles lower and fuel economy for me has improved. It basicly did the same thing for me as it did for my friends wrx. On an RB20DET engine on the intake plenium near the area where you bleed the air out the water system in the engine theres a little tube that comes off by hand and has no claps on it, thats where you spray it in from

you can grab it from any suby dealer for $17 or so. first time i used it the freakin plastic hose that came with it got sucked in the plenum.!! my mate just started workin at suby docklands and he brought with him an extention hose so it wont happen again..LOL didnt really do much the first time, i guess my car was internally clean already but i still do it every 10k just for the heck of revin the engine and the atomic mushroom.

hey i kinda got a rough idea were that tube is. Its the one that comes out of the pelenium that has no clamps on it. But u got a pic of anything u can send or post up. I just wanna make sure that im not putting this stuff into places that it shouldnt go into.
