We have up seven GTRs that compete in the tasmanian circuit series, not including the GTSt's.

nice...is that the "Targa" class? Its pretty much the same regs as 3E/Combined touring in NSW :)

Yeah Targa Class of the Octagon Series.... the only rule is that you need to run R tyres as we group categories into time brackets. Takes all the hassles out of eligibility and puts the emphasis back on on fun... its still serious competition though.

The GT champs are running with the Konicas (or v8scds or wtf) aren't they?

No the GT series is run with the Australian Porsche Drivers Championship. At the moment the only car from Japan is the Honda NSX which is finally doing well with a round win now. This year it will be telecast on channel 9. Hope fully some GTR's come out to play.

Actually...I understand it is ready to go at last

Hopefully he and the BSM boys can give it to those pesky rx7s this year.

There's still 4 production touring GTRs around....but only 1 has a running engine atm....hopefully we will all be back on track early this year.

Good luck to Man_in_bulk, roadandrace and haw001 to get out there, can't wait to see 4 gtrs on the grid together :)

Hi Duncan, Mr B has decided to take some time to do further development on the Improved Production GTR. So it won't be racing for a while. Dave is driving his own car in Under 2 Litre IP races.

:D Cheers :)

the 2006 Australian GT Eligibility list has been released the 34GTR is still able to be run unlike the Supra and RX-7 as they were both cut from the series. The GTR is the only car that is being allowed to run in 4WD however it will be hit hard with power as turbo cars are being raped to slow them down look at the NSX gets a new turbo motor and wins a round then gets RPM and HP cut to "even it out" and isn't competative any more 9.2 seconds off pole today at Bathurst. The GTR is also the most affordable car on the list so i am surprised that people complaining about budget aren't going for the cheaper options over the porsches.
