idle control

hi guys.

i have a R32 (rb20det) since i have had it. it has been idleing at 1000k to 1500 rpm. sumone had told me that the skylines have a idle control so u can set wat rpm it idles at, is this true? if so can sum one tell me where it is and how to adjust it and if any tools are needed. pics will be a great help too

A phillips head screwdriver. Its on top of the plenum at the very back of it close to the fire wall, it looks a bit like a cyclinder, you should be able to see a screw in there, adjust that and check your rpm on the dash.

I seem to remember reading somewhere on here (but never found it again) that there was also a way to compleatly reset the idle, so you can then set it properly. It also involved the ECU???

which plug do u disconnect need more info...

Make sure the trimpot on the ecu is fully anticlockwise.

Make sure car is warm.

Disconnect AAC valve connector (towards rear of plenum)

Start Car.

Turn phillips head screw until you get around 700rpm + or - 50rpm

Turn off car.

Reconnect AAC valve.

Idle should be approx 750rpm + or - 50rpm.

Thats the basics, im sure you will work it out.
