Coilovers Leaking :( :( :(

I have just found out the other day that my jic coilover suspension is leaking ... only in the rear shocks. Has anyone else had this problem and how can it be fixed??

Reconditioned or just buy new set?

And is it bad to drive my car if the shocks are leaking.

I reconditioned my KYBs had spare set of originals was pretty cheap compared to new set and warrantied for a year, the guy assured me they were as good as new, I did it myself (the swap) and looked in yellow pages for reconditioners, the only hard part is when you put them back in as the swing arm needs to be pushed down about an inch to fit the shock in, I did this with a long bar and is not very hard really but you have coilovers so is different to mine, as to driving on them I can only imagine bad handling and more damage to shocks but good driving and going slow over rough stuff will help, I dont think they will break but dont take my word for it.

I had my JICs reconditioned by TSR at slacks creek. Been as good as new eversince. Cost be bout $127 per corner from memory, but I don't think they are there anymore.

Oops forgot to mention that you need to remove back parcel shelf which requires the removal of the back seat not a small job. The place I got mine done was in aranda st slacks creek.

THE SHOCK ABSORBER RECONDITIONERS - Unit 1/ 18 Aranda St Slacks Creek 4127 - (07) 3808 2455. Just got a set of suspension done there recently. $137.50 per strut for regas, reoil and checkover. They are still open and the new owner's name is Mohammed.

Thanks guys ... good to know that i can get them reconditioned .. as the coilovers origanally cost $2500 - i didn't wanna pay half of that again for new rear shocks!!!
