Engine whine

I have just put in a pod filter in my r33 s1 NA, along with a new afm (due to the old one breaking) and now i'm getting a whining sound from the engine as it revs through the low-mid rev range. Is this normal? It doesn't seem to be affecting performance. any advice would be appreciated.

I think its normal depending on the type of whine. In my mates R31 (N/A), it hisses cos of the Pod and on mine, u can hear the spool of the turbo a lot louder. Can you post a sound?

u didnt accidently bolt a turbo on too by any chance?

LOL turbo... i'll just go down and take a look.. maybe i was sleep modding.... Silly me i did it again.

You can hear it bette in real life, or better recording equipment.

That sounds pretty normal man... i have an NA S1.5 R33 and mine makes a slight whine/hiss when punch it into the high rev range. Its the suction of the pod filter that makes the noise. I have grown to love this noise Just get used to the sound and you'll be able to differentiate between an engine whine and a pod hiss.

That's just the thing it only just recently started making the noise - before putting the pod in - or maybe i'm just heaaring things!? But it only happens at low revs!
