Does anyone know if these replica sparco and recaro seats are safe? are they made by the same manufacturer and sold off to other companies then the logo is stitched on? cause they look pretty identical to the real ones

Theirs quite a few sets going for sale for around the $600 mark with rails.

if u were to have an accident would it hold up aswell as the originals?

The ones I've seen like the takaami or something looked really crap when you get up close. You can tell the material is just cheap as and the whole thing is over priced at $600 or whatever.

Save for a second hand bride or something would be my preference.

My 2c...

when safety is involved, always buy the genuine article. It may be more expensive, but may very well save your life.

eg. brakes - I will always upgrade the brakes as one of the first things on a car now, after historically upping the power beyond the scope of my brakes and running into a spot of trouble. I will always spend as much as I can on brakes.

Conversely, a copy body kit (not that I would buy a body kit, I like factory stuff but that's an aside) may well look and do the job of a genuine kit (pending that you don't have to cut / remove the front bumper support etc), so in that case if the saving is substantial, then I'd say give it a go.

I wouldn't take the gamble with a seat - what happens if, in the case you rear end someone the seat back collapses forward? or the seat frame rips out of the rails? not what you want...

:)

My cousins bought some replica Recaros but apparently it did not connect to the orginal rails.

I think it's all up to you and your budget, but at least make sure it's ADR approved. and I doubt any of the replicas are.

Something to think about.... if the fibreglass snaps through in the middle in a hit from the rear and you fall back ..... fibreglass breaks into sharp pieces.... wouldn't be pretty.

If you want a cheap seat sparco sprints (entry level sparco seat afaik) are around 600ish new each. Also better off looking at other cheaper australian brands if you want a NEW cheap seat rather then a copy.
