any laws concerning nitrous

just wondeing if there any laws concerning nitrous in cars. i think i may have overheard that you can have nitrous in the car as long as it is not plumbed into the engine during normal street driving and that it is ok to use it at the track. anyone there to second this statement? also. are there any other restrictions other than this?

its not legal on the street, but pretty sure you can have the jets and stuff installed but can't have the bottle connected up...

If by "track" you mean circuit racing, then it's not legal there either.
