i am in the process of getting my N1's rebuilt (r32 N1's)

they are steel wheel turbos

i am looking for a good rebuilder with a good price.

i have called gcg and they quoted me 395 per turbo.

after talking to my mechanic i called GCG up again and this time they quoted me 990 per turbo, and he was being very unfriendly and told me not to waste his time as i was asking questions.

anywayz.i need to know some good decent turbo reconditioners

plz let me know

They are garrett turbos so why not just go to garrett , thats where i do mine .

As for price it depends what they are going to do .

You wont get new cores for $395 each i can tell you that . For new cores you are looking at around $700-800 each .

N1 turbos are still wheeled , any turbo you have rebuilt they are going to use steel wheels .

Without commenting on prices or quality. I was at GCG the other day and had to wait a bit for something. Anyway I just sat on the stool there at the front desk for about half an hour and was witness to several 'customers' visiting and calling.

All I can say is, those guys are soo patient to deal with that shit day after day. I can understand why performance type shops often have gruff and abrupt type people at the front line. They are pobably not like that in private but the job must send them around the loop.

The stupid questions outnumbered the sensible ones 50 to 1 and I'm not even exagerating.
