I have an MR30 sedan with an L24 6 cyl in it. I already have extractors and a 2.5 inch exhaust, and was just wondering if there are any noticable improvements to be had in the induction side and or head? I have a picture from a japanese site showing what seems to be an L24 runing individual throttle bodies for each cylinder, my cousine has done this to his integra and said he can build a set for me, but what i really want to know is whether the L24 will respond to these sorts of mods or should i toss it for somthing else? (taking into account that i will not be paying for the throttle bodies to be fabricated)

they look like motorbike style slide throttle carbs in the pic. Triple sidedraughts would be a cheaper option, but probably not legal on a factory EFI car. I would leave the multiple throttle bodies for last on the list - by themselves they won't make much difference on an otherwise standard engine. The L24 would respond well to a camshaft and sensible porting - there are some areas that can really use some attention on these heads.

Thanks. I figured porting might help but on some engines its all but pointless. As for carbies i used to own a twin webered datsun that was nothing but a nightmare to tune

bah, webers are easy, i found SU's and CD's to be more difficult to keep a good tune with.

SU's a bigger problem than CD's, at least with the CD's there was a diaphram to help keep some continuity.

The biggest problem I had with SU's was the right consistency of fluid in the dash pots.

But with either, a balancing tool was a must.
