hey guys, got a standard rb20 auto cefiro, under full load it just coughs and farts, and sounds like its fluttering, but its going nowhere!

any ideas?

sound like a dead air flow meter to you guys? cos i have tried 2 with no improvement!

the problem is worse when its warming up, where it does it even on 1/4 throttle

Has it got enough power to fire the ignition properly?

Long shot but alternator might be dead - get the electricals checked.

Also check ECU isn't in limp mode for some reason it could be mega rich n retard for some reason or another but if the ECU is limpin it then atleast you have a better idea where.

Could be anything, leak in the cooler pipes? .. good luck tho.

Could be inlet leak as above person mentioned.

My inlet manifold gasket blew on firewall side underneath and couldnt be seen. Same symptoms as you and was also worse when not at full temp. I guess because as the metal heated up and expanded it closed the leak down a bit.

the cause of this problem is easy to pinpoint. For starters you drive an ex taxi piece of shit, that probably has clocked the speedo around a couple of times on the poor old 'de' so really you will be chasing your tail forever with the rb snotbag trying to find the problem. Go down to your local servo, fill up a 20litre jerrycan and set fire to the **** !!

it doesnt have a boost leak?? my 33 wouldnt rev past 5000 on any boost, took me ages to find it, i alot of parts like you have, only to find i had a split intercooler hose, real prick to see. boost would show correctly on the guage, it didnt show i was losing any, thats why i didnt think it was a leak... usually its just a simple little problem.

cheers
