front bar mesh

im chasing some mesh for my front bar... bunnings only have stuff that has massive holes, didnt see anything at repco/auto one/etc supercheap had a small ~250x1200mm piece for about $30 in a lovely pink...

but i need a piece ~6-700x4-500 for the main hole, and then doesnt really matter for the rest... ideally id like a ~1000x1000 square i can hack at myself...

something with enough flow to not block my FMIC, but not big enough for bugs/etc to get into...

To get something that stops bugs ur gonna cut the airflow to ur cooler by up to 40%. Ur better off leaving it open. My cooler didn't suffer from not having mesh and performed better with it off.

Just get something to stop rocks from damaging your cooler, bugs can be washed off with a high pressure hose, stone damage takes a bit longer

In answer to your question, ring up some smash repairers, they should be able to sell you some mesh sheets.

You could try shadecloth, ive seen that done before.

try looking in the phone book for suppliers of that kind of stuff, they should set you on the right track.

Are you going to paint the front bar first?

anyone want to help me test this theory that peolpe wont get hurt when i run them down with mesh on?

oh and boostzor.. it's getting painted... but it will still be black and getting a few other parts painted too... i wil have a zebra-line soon

I used to work at a sand mining place and when thier grading mesh wore out they threw it away. The stainless steel mesh you see on my fmic is only a small amount that I collected. Try sourcing a sand, blue metal, gravel plant in your area, a crate of beer or bottle of hard stuff goes a long way.
