MODIFIED CAR OWNERS BLAMED FOR PEOPLE GETTING SHOT!! ACA's slander goes to far :(

Recommended Posts

Just watched THE MOST BULLSHIIT STORY I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!

ACA did another one of their trademark stories on how hoons are the root of all evil tonight but this time they've gone to far, A Current Affair has tried to pin the blame for gangland style murders on modified car culture.

id love to be interviewed by them

I don't think there'd be any point, they'd just edit it and twist your words around to make you look like the worlds biggest scum.

ACA has even been sued for stuff like that in the past, where they have twisted peoples words around to make them look guilty and have reportedly even gone as far as paying actors to try and get footage.

well... all that driving around doofing "Urban" music surely has to convince a few fully sick lads that they're fully gangsta y0! and out comes the guns ;)

i just thaught i would put in my two cents

well i think with or with out this story if u drive a turboed car u will b at fault 4 everything in soceity cause drag racing is the worlds biggest crime!!! ( haha yeh well mayb not)

so it seems every state is cumin down i have also two had incidents where the cops make up facts which well they never happened now if u try object u get fined 4 talking back well go figure either way they will end up winning wat can u do. Well word is now drag racing will send u to jail first offence. yeh that aient kewl but yet stabbing sum1 u only get community service mmmmhhh which is worse.

if i wanna drag i take my life in my hands i trust my car fark i spend all my money into it better b relaiable!!!

thats my bitching done

i was taught from my italian family is too stay away from the police and law as it stinks.... judging on how the court is handing out these punishment is a JOKE!!!!

the LAW/POLICE are mad up of bunch of people who know nothing about society.

I saw ACA again tonight and they showed a group of "ethnic" guys with R33's getting pulled over...

Ray Martin once again said that the "Hoon" culture is to blame for these kinds of things (shootings).

How can they get away with saying that murder is a part of the car enthusiast culture??

I am very pissed off about this whole subject, it is making it almost impossible for me to drive around on a Friday or Saturday night without being pulled over for a "random" vehicle check.

We should put together a petition or something and send in a complaint to the advertising standards board.

yeah true, coppers are faaarrrr from innocent, that story will have a negative effect for sure even more so now on modified car owners... especially skyline owners since the guy they decided 2 show tryin 2 fight a cop owned one... was pretty nice i must admit, and what he said 2 the cop about not bn able 2 afford it and haven a shitty hyundai excel at home was pretty humorous,.... but still, alota ppl are morons and fall for the shit aca dishes out, meaning more shit is hung on us, the modified car owners of aus. ;)

If you actually watch ACA on a regular basis you will notice that the large majority of their stories are really small stories that they sensationalise into "big" stories. Watch tomorrow and you will see they will do some story that you usually wouldnt look twice at, but they will try and make it as if it is vital to Australia's well being.

For example by showing that absolute IDIOT who was trying to pick a fight with the cop, they are sensationalising that since this guy does it then all car enthausiasts are like that.

I woudn't look into it too much as things wont really change. For example, highway patrol still wont like you, the old lady across the road may still think you car is way too loud etc

As long as you obey the law you will be fine, regardless of your car.

I agree... Most stories are blown up (modified... LOL) into something far from standard....

Like tonights story... They fitted a T88 full xhaust and a crap load of NOS to an otherwise normal ocurance. However the guys who played it up were only doing it for the cameras and thats what made their story. I know i would not have done the same thing, I havent been targeted at all because of the line. Have owned 3 from 2000 so in five years i have not been pulled over. I have been followed heaps, but have not been pulled over.

I put this down to driving normally, not boosting every gear. Playing it safe and driving with caution all the time. This may make me sound like an old lady driver. But i let it all out at QLD raceway or the local go-kart track. I mean do you see Mark Scaife or Peter Brock being pulled over all the time... No... But if they did i reckon the media would turn on then real fast. LOL

Good job tho..... Funny story....

I'm willing to stand up and have my vote counted to a fairer society.

Unfotunately the way our society goes the enthusiast is never going to have a good time unless we stand up and make a name for ourselves, and I dont mean these guys who just did. Need more support than ACA giving the majority a bad name labelling due to action of the minority.

Anyhow, putting the car back into storage....

    • The GTT probably only has the same little bag of tools that the R32 had, which contained useless pliers, a spanner or two, a screwdriver thingo, and the handle and crank stuff for the jack.

    • UPDATE: Hi all!  As we are getting towards the end of this thread where I’ll showcase final dyno numbers and graph, I wanted to provide an update. Tao from HyperGear has done an amazing job building the custom divided T3 housing for the G30. Communication was flawless, price was great, and now the housing is estimated to arrive in 7-10 days! Very very pleased. I must add, if someone is looking for an affordable turbo and end up reading this thread, I would recommend HyperGear. Genuine brands are the way to go as their proven reliability, predictable performance, and there’s a plethora of information available for specs, flow, and more. This HyperGear recommendation is based on their excellent communication, dedication, and willingness to listen to their customers. I particularly liked their ability to create custom adaptations tailored to specific needs, which is a HUGE benefit over other brands. And if we consider the HyperGear provided dyno results, it adds reassurance knowing their turbos can compete against genuine brands. Next update will be after the dyno!
