I am thinking of import a race only car.

I knew that i require a CAMS licence but i am not sure what level of cams lic. will eligible for this

and once the car landed, other than the FOB cost, what else i need to pay in order to register it as a race only car? (tax, race car compliance?)

how much a year for register?

thanks

To obtain an Import Approval you will require a Level 3 CAMS licence, which will allow you to import the vehicle and compete on the track (as the some of vehicles was sold in Australia it is otherwise ineligible for import). Once imported for race purposes, the vehicle can be B registered, allowing you to drive it on public roads only to and from events and for other legitimate purposes. A Level 3 licence is not all that difficult to obtain -- contact CAMS directly to find out more.

I checked out race rego with VICROADS about six months ago and in Victoria any car that isn't 30 years old or more can only get race?rally reg on a race by race basis!!

So basically everytime you want to drive the car you have to apply for temp rego for the race days only and supply the entry documentation etc!

All the dodgy importers in Melb Fooked up the rally rego scheme about 5 years back by abusing it.

In the end it was all too hard and I bought a trailer to carry my car around
