Flare In My R33

I've had my r33 for nearly a year and have been meaning to ask this question since i bought it. I found a red road flare mounted under my glove box. Just wondering if they are in every skyline and also if it would still be ok to use (as its about 10 years old now i'm assuming).

Finally if i get drunk and decide to do party tricks with it do i just need to pop the top off to get it started?? (note: you will not be held liable for any stupid crap i do )

They work fine dude, just lit up a couple last week : )

Pop the top, and spark it up like a match (there is a section there to do it)

yeh on the cars we get in we have flare days, u can guess what happens there

Yep, they are in all R33s as far as I know, not sure about other models.

yea i was going to say when i got my car after compliance and all i noticed a flare down their i have always wanted to open it up maybe i should leave it in the car just in case i ever need it

All J cars that I've been in in Japan have them. Dono if it's regulation or something but yeah they have it for safety.

I guess when they come to Aus they stop being for safety and start to be for fun

Don't pop any near the sea I think that gets the coast guard/rescue people goin.

the flares are boring just a red glow nothing huge and spectacular

Check out the owners manual, i was curious about it so i flicked through that. From what i understood from the cartoons, it's for those occassions when your car breaks down on a railroad and you need to signal the train to stop. Or you could get off your ass and push the car.

yeh every japanese car has to have one for law over there, we have asked our ladie over in japan and she sais that everycar has them incase the break down

thats why the r33 are so much better lol...maybe you could purchase an aftermarket super flare just to outdo us.

Yeah i'll have to think of something interesting to do with it. Maybe douse a mate in bourbon and throw it to him....hahah jokes.
