r33 boost

i have 97 r33 with 3inch turbo bak exhaust, everything else is stock, just wondering how high can you boost it and does it need a boost defenderor watever

i have what you except also a k + n panel filter and am running 9psi though i generally dont give it much that often. getting fmic soon and will then put it up to 11psi

Simple answer.. u shud be able to go to 10psi with no problems as is!

i am only running 9psi to be safe and mine is running rich as a bitch when i get the front mount i will as i said up it but also get a SAFC to help fix the afr

true, well would that completely **** everything up u reakon, coz my mate done like 11 and it felt like when boost got up to high it cut out and like it was backfiring but it wasnt backfiring, if that makes n e sense, on a autop aswell, wats up with that??

Probably his fuel being retarded due to the ECU... 10psi is safe with the stock cooler also, anymore probably is pushing it abit!

Only if your engine as a whole is making good power. Considering that I believe the RB25DET AFM is good for over 200rwkw than 99% people on stock turbo's will never have this problem.

I've been running 10-12 psi for a few years with no problems so far. Same mods as you.

A lot of people have said it's generally "safe" to go up to 14 or so without having the stock turbo cack itself. I've given it a go a few times but it feels like it's "choking" and is actually slower than at 12psi.

Maybe that's the stock intercooler doing its thing??

what i mean is, it wont be the fuel rate slowing down...rather the ecu will chuck in more fuel to compensate for any pinging (with increasing boost) aswell as retarding the timing....thats why the rate of acceleration decreases

theres no way the ecu is gonna lessen fuel supply when more and more air is getting stuffed into the engine....otherwise nissan would be bankrupt fixing engine failures
