Well the package above only costs in transport and accomodation... lift ticket and ski hire are on top (obviously if you got your own stuff, you dont need to hire).

Plusses are you dont have to worry bout driving/parking/chains etc.

  • 2 weeks later...

Ok so to get this kinda back on track, I have talked to some places and basically the deal Andrew (SkyGTRline) found is looking the best.

So... those who want to come, when do you want to go and for how many days?

Im thinking around mid August and for the 3 days during the week.

Let me know, and we'll work something out and get booking.

i'm up for it.

nick, is that at the kookaburra lodge?

three days sounds good. the last time i went last year i did a three day/two night trip to jindy, accomodation was $155, lift pass for two days was $166, board hire for two days was about $90.

i should also add, two day lift passes cost a fair whack, so the day trips you can do with murrays are cheap as...

Ok heres my rough cost estimation...

3 Day Midweek Madness Package includes

- 3 nights accomodation at the Snowy Valley Resort, Jindabyne

- Transport from Canberra to Snowy Valley Resort by luxury coach

- Shuttle bus transport up and down the mountain each day (includes National Park entry fees)

- Complimentary 3 course dinner at the Lakeview Bistro

- Hot breakfast each morning

- Party night is Wednesday Night in Jindabyne

Busses depart Canberra at 10:30PM Monday night, returning late Thursday night.

Cost: $289 per person

EXTRA COSTS YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY

Skis stocks and boots hire -- $55

Snowboard and boots hire -- $69

Hire clothes (jacket, pants etc) -- check out some ski and camping shops for good prices

3 day lift pass / with skitube -- $248 / $302

Spending money each day for food and drinks at Perisher -- $25

So for a grand total of around $562 plus your ski/board/clothes hire. Then add on some extra cash for going out in Jindabyne, id say $650-700 would be suitable for most people.

is this for a group booking or not because they maybe cheaper if we get the numbers

$650-700

if there were 5 or more ppl interested, i would be highly inclined to go visit the flight centre, and ask em what they can do in term of group tickets to new zealand, with that amount of ppl, u can get cheap as chips accomodation. snow in NZ rips the shit out of perisher in a good year, and for $100-200 more, why not eh?

Spoke to them about group booking and they need 15 people or more.

As for the NZ idea, the problem is we need definate numbers

well some of us dont have to hire gear so those who do start looking for friends stuff to nock off of the 2 or 3 days, thats what i have done much cheaper

Oh I do intend on giving the gear back at the end

Sounds awsome... im a mad boarder so was goin up any way, but with a few skyliners is even better, I have a mate who ownes village ski shop in cooma whou could do a good deal on board/boots/pants hire if we go in a group. so yeh keen 4 SURE! :D

    • Hi. A little bit of an update. It maybe(hope not) looks like i would need a new tranny(it would be "maybe" a cheaper or better option anyway) So i need some info. I know i need a different propshaft(i can make custom one) LSD is not a problem cuz the engine will be still(for now) N/A RB20. So if i buy RB25DET NEO tranny...is there something else i need? I read something about push/pull type but i do not know if i need to "change" something or i can just plug n play onto my engine a go? Thanks for the advice
    • Good morning all, Bit of a random question but figured I’d finally throw it out after wondering for a long while. Before I start, I'm hoping to do this purely out of personal preference. I think it would look better at night, and don't mind at all spending a few hours and dollars to get it done. I've copied this from a non-Skyline specific forum, so I apologize for the explanation of our headlight switch setup that we all know. Here we go: Zero lights (switch off) Parking lights (switch position 1) being a rectangular marker on the outside of the housing, my low beam being the projector in the centre (position 2), and a high beam triggered by my turn signal stalk. Most North American cars I’ve owned of this era have power to the amber corner (turning indicator) light as part of the first switch (parking lights). I’d love to have these amber corners receive power when the headlights and parking lights are on (headlight switch), yet still blink when using the turn signal which is of course a separate switch. Hopefully I’ve explained my question correctly. Is anyone aware of a way in which I might be able to achieve this? Thanks in advance
    • My heads are cathedral port! It's likely possible, but I don't want to add any extra moving parts (I know they don't move) between the heads, manifolds, etc. It will also affect how injectors/fuel rails etc sit and I don't really know if it would change how the FAST manifold goes/sits/fits. I have the LS6 steam pipes already as I have a very late LS1 block so it should be fine. I couldn't find anyone who had ever actually used one for this purpose, it seems 100% of people grind the water pump. The thermal spacers are 12mm and are half way to the cost of the newer water pump anyhow... so if it comes to that I suppose I'd rather buy a new pump. The bearing in the pump I do have is a little.. clunky, but it hasn't done that much time and I never noticed it when the car was together in the past few years, so..
    • The bushing has failed, not all that uncommon for a car of this age.  Any mechanic should be able to push in a new bushing for you, or you can probably buy the entire lower control arm, complete with bushes.
    • Could you not use "thermal" spacers to give the clearance, like the ones I used between the blower and head? That raised the manifold height by around 10-15mm Albeit the ones I used were for cathedral ports, but I assume they have similar for rectangular ports????
