Good to meet you all and have a crack on the dyno lots of fun!  Was a Bit Gay that 40 of the trophys went to the same 2 cars, damn there where some nice cars there that should have been recognised in some way. So yeah a good weekend will be joining 'offically' soon itching to get out on the track.

[silver33gtr that take friggin ages to warm up!]

Hey Nathan, the trophies are for PRO class, there are only like 4-8 cars in that pro class though. But they are the big $$$ cars with sponsorship and stuff.

It just seems that way as they have soo many awards lol.

Your car looks sweet. Would be nice to see you at our Members Cruise (if you sign up in the next 2 weeks)

A side by side pic of yours and Jacks would be awesome.

-ash (with the R31)

hey guys

Ur stand was very impressive. The cars were mint. I had the white 33 with the carbon bonnet on the Garage Sokudo stand. I love ur cars cause they were all clean, not stickered up untastefull pos like some of the other cars there. Well done guys...hope to meet some of ya one day

Oh gtiarr ur car was mad, i luved the rims soooo much. Took a few photo's of them...swoit

Yeah, thats what i like about our stand.

Not a lot of fuss and stickerage so to say.

You should sign up too and come along to our events :(

your car was a very nice piece of work. Members cruise in 2 weeks for those that sign-up ;)

Great to meet and mix with all the SAU guys & girls, aswell as the fangers. Great effort by everyone involed!! Also good to see a few members swing by saying hello and introducing themselves.

everyones photos are great! keep em coming!

:(

JAGR33 - Nice, do you have the 8cm^2 or the 10's? Ive got the 8's soo responsive but still kick you in the head when you stomp it.

180-MPH - Thanks man, I took a few myself (Im a wanker from wayy back)

Ash - Big fan of your car, big grins on the dyno looked so nuts and on edge! Insane and unusable rear wheel power figures too which is what I like to see.

First up, a BIG thanks to all the people who made this years autosalon a kick-a$$ event. A special mention should be made to Ash, Adz, James, Greg and Pete who helped move all the cars around the dyno. Thanks also to Bec for printing and laminating those pics/posters to make our stand look the goods and to Paul & Sarah (sorry if I got your name wrong but with sooo many to remember from the weekend, I might be forgiven!) for 'baby-sitting' the stand while everyone was enjoying the action elsewhere.

Personally I enjoy autosalon 'cause it gives you a chance to see the whole variety of modified cars out there - anything from our SAU street driven/track cars to wild show cars with bodykits and stereos (even if some peoples tastes leave a lot to be desired). I also got to pop my autosalon dyno cherry and even though I don't run huge power it was interesting comparing results to other cars there on the day. Needless to say, Daves 604awkw run was awesome on Sat and I even managed to keep my eyebrows despite filming about 4 metres from the fireball!! I have the run on a digi film clip (around 7-8mb) so if anyone can suggest how I post it here pls PM me.

Anyway here are my better shots from the day (yes I know there are a lot of pics of promo girls next to my car but hey you don't get to do this everyday do you!!??) and those of you who asked me to take some shots of their cars (Adz, Matt etc) pls be patient as I just started a new job and have to sort out my email stuff. Soon as its sorted (hopefully over the next couple of days) I'll forward the originals on. Those who took shots for me (greg in particular!!) pls forward the original hi-res versions to Anthony.Snelling@worleyparsons.com. Also who ever has an original hi-res of the group shots - SAU and SAU/fangartists (maybe Sarah??) could you please forward to the same address.

Great seeing everyone down there and hope to see you at the next event :(

Christ...Ash, is that dyno figure for real? Or was it the sort of dyno that would of even given me a figure to be proud of:)

Either way, big number:thumbsup:

...and Ant, you seem to have some kinda animal magnetism that has attractive young ladies flock to you. Must be the mans impeccable manners, fine choice in meals and drinks...rather then the carpet bombing with 'fueled by VB' and curries:)

JAGR33 - I plan to attend on the 15th def, is there a thread somwhere? am I blind or is it hidden to the public (me)?

ADZ - Yes please! I'll pm you def. Thanks.

-Nathan

Nathan - join the club, pay membership and reap the rewards!!!!!

Looking forward to the 15th!!!!

    • Yes...but look at the numbers. There is a tiny tiny fraction of the number of Joules available, compared to what is used/needed. Just because things are "possible" doesn't make them meaningful.
    • Thanks for taking the time to post that ! If anything changes or happens please do update us.
    • Somehow Vertimass/Oak Ridge National Labs has figured out a catalyst that can convert ethanol into C9-C10 hydrocarbons in basically a single step without ending up with a bunch of ethylene or similar waste products: https://patents.google.com/patent/WO2023224867A1/en I still don't think anything like this will keep us from needing to transition to EVs regardless along with all kinds of other electrification, but things like this will go a long way towards alleviating the problem of how to electrify things like planes. Renewable diesel is seemingly an easier problem as well, Chevron is already running refineries for the stuff and the primary feedstock is tallow and other waste fats from agriculture.
    • Ok so I have sorted everything with my uniclutch and  i can offer up a bit of feedback and some things that might help others.    I found problems with factory damper line. Weird shit and had trouble with peddle adjustment    I used this https://au.gktech.com/products/r33-gts-t-skyline-braided-clutch-line?_pos=2&_sid=22b01b9b9&_ss=r Also when adjusting peddle leave a bit of play. You can get into a over stroke condition easy.. Make sure you can push the slave forward after adjusting to confirm fluid can return to master then you will need to pump it up heaps…..not sure why but that’s how it is.    last thing the splined adapter is machined perfectly. If your input shaft is old like mine was I would put a bit of valve grinding paste on it and stroke it like a 15 year old. Just to give it a tad more clearance and to better match it to the spline.    reason is on a near flat shift I have had situation where the peddle returns a millisecond after you lift from the clutch. No slip or anything but I reckon this is due to tolerance on the spline being way tighter than stock clutch and binding for a sec. I think this will go away but also my spline was old. Box is old so I guess I should have checked better. It’s a super neat fit.    it feels light as and holds awesome without any noise
