hey ppl, i just reciently got a new r32 gtst, one concern in the first week i noticed the oil pressure dropping whist at the lights to a tad about "0", i checked the oil and i thought it was very thin, so i decieded to do a change, while i was at it i did the oil filter, air filter and fuel filter. There was an improvement but it is still dropping whilst i sit at lights, under the accel it rises to around the 4kg mark is this right? or is there a problem? if anyone could tell me what theirs runs at it would be very helpful and if it is a problem what is it related too many think. I took out about 5.5litres of oil and replaced it with about 6litres too much? looks fine on the reader. thanks guys

oil punp might be worn and not pushing enough oil through at low rpm. If it was 0 then little or no oil would be in passing through the oil pump to the top of the head which would eventually you will start to hear a tapping noise coming from the motor, do you hear this? Best bet is to have the pump checked out, if its fine then your gauge might be wrong.

Skylines oil pressure gauges are known for failing. There is a strong possibility of the fault being in the gauge alone. Take it to a mechanic & get him to check the oil pressure with a separate gauge. This will tell you whether the fault is in the engine or in the gauge. Do a search under oil pressure or similar & you should find what the readings are supposed to be.
