gill(3 rectanlge hole)on the right hand side next to the ash tray

i wanted to paint my dash so when i opened out the stereo surround dash on my r32 gtr i notice there a wire connect to the gill(3 rectangle hole) on the right hand side next to the ashtray.

Does anyone out there know what that is? and can i cut the wire off so i can get the dash out cos its seem like it can't be unplug

Air con temp sensor. cut the wires and your climate control wont work properly.

it's a smell sensor

just cut it out and your car won't smell as much

thats the bugger that gets hot from the stereo and causes the fan to stay on full.

There should be a plug for it, failing that there are two screws holding it into the surround.
