Yeah dave, they are directional... but I swap the backs around (actually get them taken off the rims) and then swap the fronts around (taken off the rims again).

can u do that with different sized fronts and backs?

Dude, look at it this way... Outside number being the tyre, inside being the rim...

11 22

33 44

then when you get the tyres rotated, imagion the tyre COMES OFF THE RIM and on to the other sides rim. So you get your semi rotation done, it will then look like this...

21 21

43 43

Get it? Personally you shouldnt have to do this as your tyres should wear even, even with a full on set up, as it should be set up to your driving style so the tyres have even wear, as if they have even wear they are gripping the most they can most of the time...

Isn't that camber too though? mine are bald inside which is why I'm replacing them but it's because of the camber setup...they've been rotated already so the "outside" is pretty bald too.

Anyway I've got the day off today so I'm going to ring every tyre place in the phone book and get prices on yokos and anything else in my price range. When I'm done I'll post the best quote I got on here...it really makes a difference when the $$ are spread over 4 tyres - in the four or so phone calls I made so far the price difference in the yokos adds up to $140.

After I rang about 10 places the places I was ringing knew I was ringing around cos they were all asking the same supplier for prices on 225/45r17s hahah...I felt like the scummiest guy on earth arguing the price down an extra $5 per tyre but I'm getting them for $255 each fitted etc from Tyrepower @ the gap. Bit out of the way but they said it will only take an hour to fit and align so I'll just hang around and have a coffee or something...

I think the c.drives will be good, never heard a bad report and they're kind of between expensive and budget.

Any reason you chose the 225 over something wider?

Nah not really...just that it has 215s on it now...I wanted all four the same so I could rotate them a bit more easily than having to get them off the rims - can just use my uncle's hoist and get them off and rotate. Thought 235s might be a bit wide for the front.

Yeah with the potenzas I couldn't find S0-3s for under about $320...quite a bit too much $$ for me.

Just remember tho, if you dont get that camber fixed up your throwing the money away :)  They will just wear out again.  So if it was me (which it isnt..) Id be looking to fix that asap.

Yeah it's on the long list of "to-do" stuff mate

wat if I can get you SO3/DZ101/ST115 around $300-$350 per type.....

Too late thanks mate I already got the tyre place to order them. It's ok anyway, $300 is a bit much for me just now. Also I read a quick review in the newsagent of 18 tyres in Wheels this month. Potenzas topped most tests from memory, but the yokos still got overall score of 98 out of 100 (potenzas got like 98.6)

I think I'll be happy with these.
