Guest too quick

hi guys,

I'm a lawyer (not sure if that's safe to share) but I agree that this whole new importing laws suck... I've just gotten into skylines and have just bought one and can't wait to add more modifications to it... and buy another ... I wouldn't be surprised if these laws are the result of a bunch of ppl who cnt' drive for s...

:burnout:

i guess im lucky ive already got a modded gtr, with plans for more.

why us ,what about other modified cars out there gemini's exa's

laser's with intercooler's hanging of the front almost dragging the ground, you cant tell me that their safer than a modified gtr with abs & traction control etc:shake:

Its got nothing to do about safety. Its all to do with the governemt wanting more $$ out of us.

Imports have killed the local car market, and the governement arent making enough money off them, so they are cracking down so they can gain more revenue from us.

As with the destrctuion of modifications, I beleive the reasoing behind this can be to make imports less 'appealing', .. maybe also because the cops in thier slow SS's cant catch us :P

Exactly...and what evidence do they have that if we couldn't buy an import, we would be buying a BRAND NEW Australian sold car instead?? I certainly wouldn't...because the $20K I might have spent on an R33 wouldn't get me much.

I'd be looking secondhand...a Rex or a 200sx or something...

Something must be done.... one voice needs to come from the masses, all sending the same message that this new scheme is rubbish...

If importing cars is hurting the local economy... does this mean they will stop panasonic selling more tv's here if they want? Will they try and slow down the growth in sales of imported alcohol?

NO!

Imports are a part of the modern economy, not just cars but many items. Imported items are brought in to the country to increase our standard of living by offering items that the local economy cannot provide. This benifit is being threatened for no viable reason, so therefor can be fought! both legally and morally!

So we have a reason, and a basis to fight this!

My 2c!!!!

PS- im pissed off :uh-huh:

had a think about may be a bit off a scare tactic I mean how are they going to track everything that is destroyed. Take an old turbo worth nothing to Simsmetal get your certification of destruction and it could have been your T88 that was on the GTR. all hypothetical of course..

I've known this was coming for a long time...

There will be ways around it.... have been thinking about it.

Once I get some spare time sooner or later, i'll write a letter to the appropriate Nazis who are responsible for such legislation. I don't know that our combined voice would be substantial to change anything...... our society dosent work.

Hold that plane.... im off to Jp.... let you know IF im coming back.. :P

Imports have killed the local car market,

The 'Local' car manufacturers have made claims in the past that the grey imports have affected their sales - however statistics show that the majority of new car sales that are 'locally' manufactured are in fact fleet sales - wish the mob I work for had a fleet of GTRs or Supra TTs - I wouldn't use a plane as often if they did.

This claim is a joke!!!

We really need to put together a united logical argument and try and prevent the proposed demise of imports.

Remember........................

You are going to replace the import you are driving one day - do you want a choice or a s**tbox!!

I am on my third one - can't imagine driving anything else.
