Did anyone mension that they are also cheaper because aussie tax/duty is not include in that price(this is where most if not all of your saving comes from). if you get picked up at customs its about another 25% ontop of nenguns price.

Not to mension costs in retuns if the item shipped is the wrong part or faulty (not likly but possible) also there is sometimes a pretty long wait for parts (weeks to months). yes overseas is cheaper but it does have its risks

Where did you get 25% from ?

Import duty is 10% and then add another 10% gst , thats nowhere near 25 % .

ok ill help you out.... if something costs you 10 oranges and you pay duty of 1 orange to get it in the country(10%) you have now paid 11 orange in total, then johnny howard wants a sum of oranges equal to 10%(gst) of your 11 oranges (1.1oranges)so in total you have now paid 12.1 oranges. 2.1 of those being in taxes making the total amount of taxes 2.1 oranges or 2.1/10 which gives you 21%.....pretty close to 25% (you wouldnt exactly describe 21 as being NOWHERE NEAR 25 would you)

15 % duty has gone for ever on cars and parts ( 10% ) as of 1st of january 2005 and it will reduce to 5% from january 2010 .

Thats good to know, I wasn't aware of the change. Thanks.

Yoou are correct in your example and i know that i have paid it often enough .

Now 21% is much closer to 20% than 25 % to me , i dont know about you or others .

If you knew how it works why didnt you say 21% in your earlier post ? Or just say 10% +10% on top . By you saying 25 % people think its still 15% duty + 10 gst which we all know is wrong .

so what are the chances of getting taxes? I contacted 'bigsully' and can get some in 1.5 weeks for a price cheaper than Nengun + potential taxes, but more than the current nengun price of $597

I did a bit of a ring around when i ordered my coils, airport dudes, customs and the general advice i got back was, that if the part is under $1000 you are under no obligation to declare it for tax purposes (like getting a present from overseas relitives).... and the same for anything over that, if it is not to be resold in oz (bussiness)....

I was happy with that so i get all my parts from there.... the main downside is the wait mine took 3 weeks but only casue i ordered them during the sold out period......

You sure? We just ordered some X-Box stuff from Japan, was only $300 worth or so. We had no idea about import tax, then $100 bill rocked up in the mail. It was a very nasty surprise.

Including taxes???

They can't say a price delivered and then add on extra can they>>???

Why not?

It's quite simple - Nengun are in Japan, we are in Australia. They have no control over import duties and local taxes here, therefore how can they possibly quote a price including our local taxes when you purchase it from them in Japan.

Just for the record, I'm expecting a bill for GST/Duty on my coils now - apparantly they were pulled up in Customs according to the EMS tracking on my parcel. Hopefully they let them through without slapping me the bill, but I guess it's the risk you take when you purchase from overseas...

I just purchased a HKS GTSS turbo kit through greenline, I received a letter from the customs place at Granville saying I had to show how much I payed for what was in the box and also what was it exactly. I showed them my Greenline receipt, which was $3400 ($3150ish for turbos and $250ish for shipping). I was charged 10%GST on the turbo's and then on the shipping. SO added up to a $330 bill plus a $48 fee from customs. So total tax I paid was $380.. which isnt too bad for a turbo kit that i paid $3400 for and retails for $6000 in Australia

    • I didn't think about how a circle works before, dumb.  Before, I had .9mm restrictor bolts but I can't use these cause they were shorter aluminium bolts that just tear off their threads when tightening since the OEM lines are thicker than the shitty braided one that was installed previously. Now I use longer 1mm stainless steel restrictor bolts. I think the difference will not affect the health of the turbos, but I guess I'll have to drill out the main feed bolt as I agree multiple restrictions sound dodgy. The one that was installed with the braided line was just too short, but completely without a restrictive hole.
    • Tomei or Nitto, don't use the OEM one or Cosmetic ☺️
    • After cleaning up a rusty cooling system in a 33 gtst that's been sitting for years it seems to have cleaned out the head gasket too haha. It seems the Tomei metal gasket works without machining surfaces? Or put oem? Also should put an oil restrictor while the head is off? Thanks
    • Thanks, I definitely saw the more expensive options from Crank and driveshaft shop. Thank you for the D-max option.  Still hopeful someone has an OEM out of the box option I found that the 300zx NA Left drive shaft is a good match for the Right on the R33. https://www.gsplatinamerica.com/product/ncv53040 Just need to find Left CV for the R33, I cannot find any <=22" axles.
