As the titile says....can someone please enlighten me on the difference apart from the type r being slightly more expensive?

I mean what are the functions that dual solenoid type r can do that single solenoild type s cannot do?

I just want a good boost controller that can boost my single turbo gtst to 20 psi.

what size actuator are you running? if its the stock spring on an r33 turbo then the controller has a crapload of work to do to maintain the boost from the stock spring level to the target boost level of 20psi (1.4bar). If you have an upgraded actuator, then the single is probably ok as the different would only be a about 4-5psi. Whereas with the stock r33 actuator its probably a lot more, like 14psi, the controllers cycle will go off bananas trying to maintain it

The amount of boost it can hold, i think S is 18psi and R is 36psi, they use different solenoids.

*Functions are the same.

Yep. Type S use a single solenoid, whereas the Type R's user dual solenoids. I'd go something totally different and go the HKS EVC.
