Sorry to make this last minute change, but Richmond Kart Mania rang me today to confirm our booking, and told me it is a 1 hour booking for 8-12 people between 7 and 8pm, with another group having booked the place out from 8-10pm. I actually booked (or thought I had) a 2 hour slot for us, but the guy that took my booking must have stuffed it up somehow. What we can do instead is kart from 6pm-8pm, giving us 2 grand prix events, where we have 2 eventual winners and trophy holders.

SO

Intead of meeting at the meet place (that I have PM'd those that asked for it) for dinner at 5:30pm, can we please still meet there and we will cruise straight to Richmond for karting (we can grab a burger there at Hungry Jacks for a snack to last us until dinner).

THEN after karting do we want to go somewhere for late dinner around town/near Richmond somewhere (which will work out better for down South people anyhow I would think).

Again, sorry for the stuff up but it is beyond my control.

So is everyone OK with that? Either meet at the North-Eastern spot I PM'd to people at 5:30pm, or meet us directly at Richmond at 6pm.

I will PM this info to everyone on the attendee list also.

Andrew

ive asked andrew to pm me the meeting place at 5:30 through sms but if he doesnt get this message can someone who knows the location send me a message - 0424082939 as that would be greatly appreciated.

We split into 2 random groups for 2 grand prix.

All up MattR won his group and Sambo and I tied for winner of the 2nd group (on a points basis over qualifying and 4 races). I think the best time of the day was MattR with a 21.19.

Thanks to all that came, we had 17 racers all up, which was a healthy turnout. We went to Vili's for tea afterwards, then most of us continued on to MattR's for his Birthday bash. The darts and 8-ball were great as always - as was the wooded Jamesons - owww my head this morning!

The next major event is likely to be paintballing at a venue TBA. I would think we might do this in June or July, weather permitting.

Paintballing would be wicked. The one down at Blackwood past the Barasso on the way to Gawler have good maps especially the capture the flag one. The only problem is the dirt road of 5kms, its ok for one car to drive slow, but the cars following it will have stuffed up air filters and a new car colour.

Yeap good night all round, thanks Andrew for organising it, Matty for the post-event drinking venue, and Will for playing taxi driver (love that LS1 grunt) so more of us could :O

:werd:

Yeah, top night out! Big thanks to Andrew, Matt & Will! looking forward to the next one! :(

Cheers,

Sam

    • Ha ha ha, mine loves to spend, all on the dogs (they're our kids, and her spending would likely rival that of some people raising children!) the only benefit is, her spending is tax deductible as she runs a business in the dog industry 😛 The above all means she can spend race car budget quicker than I can. 😛 That and a lot of the things I want are very expensive, and I can be a bit "you want how much for that?!" And at other times overly impulsive. Or I start the w days of research, get to day 1.5 and get really annoyed that no one will advertise actual specifics and it's just marketting BS and I go "well, now I don't want anything to do with that now!" Also I hate paying lots of money for something I can make from $50 in materials. Then I get the shits halfway through making things and wonder why others who just buy parts have more fun... 😛
    • Their 240Z with the RB26 would be a real nice thing to have in a garage to come out for an occasional weekend cruise It's such a cool thing in so many ways Sadly, we have a blue 240Z shell that I walk past every day, just sitting outside a shed at work, it has been slowly disintegrating and falling apart into the ground for the last few years, the owner cannot be found, and I am unable to "claim it" I've been told by work and the RMS, the rust in the body is excessive though, and it has had most of the salvageable stuff, like panels, trim and switch gear stripped off it over the last year or two, work keeps threatening to put it in one of our metal scrap bins, I wish they did though, as it makes Mark sad walking past it
    • Good tips, I like it! 😂😂 My wife is a LOT more frugal than me so it's only me we need to worry about! A splurge to her is buying 2 pairs of socks in one visit at Kmart!
    • Haha, the appropriate response to the question "Is this new?" is "I've had this for a while.". With the unspoken small print that a while may be the time since this morning or five years ago   And to be fair I learned that from the best, i.e. my wife. Because it goes both ways.
    • Yeah kids certainly add a whole another dimension to your life.  Life ceases to be about you and more about them for a while!  And I wouldn't have it any other way.  I love watching them play sport and make new friends along the way. Wow, sounds like your mate is a good guy to know!!!  He's got some serious toys in the toy box!  Yes it would be lovely to be able to do stuff to your car without getting all tied up in boring shit like how to pay for it!!  I would describe my spending style as "aggressively spontaneous and logical but regrettable purchasing"....  That will hopefully make no sense at all which would be appropriate given that is how I buy stuff.  I'll decide at the drop of a hat that I'm buying something expensive, research the living shit out of it for 2 days straight then go out and buy it.  Then I'll have instant buyers remorse for 2 days which generally passes by the time it turns up on the front step!  If I'm feeling ballsy sometimes I'll tell my wife.  Other times it just makes its way silently passed the house and out the back to the shed, never to be spoken of again...
