I think he just cooked it and possibly blew off an IC hose.

Thats if he is lucky.

Worse case is its leaned out causing the coolant to boil and exh. valves burnt, possibly even blowing a hole in a piston.

Which is why it a good idea to often throw the car on a dyno every 6 months or a year for a power run to check the AFR's are in check.

Head Gasket, Holed Piston, Burnt Valves.... I would go for the latter... Pull your plugs out and you will find they do not all look the same...

Good Luck

TT

sounds like uve done a head gasket, just the fact that water pouring out of ur overflow is one major factor.

Pull out all ur plugs check for water in ur cylindars and take off ur oil cap and see if its milky....if it is, ure up for a new head bro.

just exactly how long was ur burnout? lol

Water coming out of the overflow doesnt nesseserally mean a head gasket. My car used to do it when it was in traffic, but it had a hole in it as well... I also lost my radiator cap and cooked the engine... They will take a fair bit. It was that hot that it wouldnt run and was knocking during idle.... Picked it up in the afternoon and it was fine, but for sure i was lucky with that one.
