Hello everyone, i have made a few posts but now i will introduce myself. My name is Stefan and i live in San Antonio, Texas, USA. (no its not a desert at all...well a little west it is, but its thick ass woods where i live and a big ass lake near by. Here is a picture of my 2002 Acura RSX Type S on the shore of a cove near a friends house on Canyon Lake. Then an animated picture of our recent SAI (SanAntonioImports.com) Canyon Lake meet (there were more cars than that but thats all the cars i could find and mess with ) Next picture is a pic of me and my girlfriend, lisa. Well after a long time out of this sight, i have found my favorite forum once again. I have been very busy with school, but am through with it now. I have a few questions for you guys.

Would it be possible, if i found customers, to buy parts from you guys and have them shipped here?

Would there be any hassle?

Do you think there is any margin for profit gains through these transactions?

Also, there is growing number of skyline owners here in San Antonio, though rare, i feel that they are still enthusiasts to go through the hassles of importing skylines (R32, 33, 34) to the US. So maybe they would be wanting upgrades that i could purchase from members on this site.

Also, is Autsralia getting the NEW GT-R??? We get it legally for sale as a Nissan, not an Infiniti, here in 2008.

Possible, bit of a headache though, shipping rates from Australia to the US aren't that cheap, especially for car parts. Plus you've gotta promise us you won't put our GTR badges on your Hondas.

I don't see any hassle in that sorta agreement, other than organising for the parts to be sent to you, and international payments. Not many people in Australia use paypal and other US based electronic payment methods, so you'd have to rely on good old international transfers.

Not really, our spare parts come from Japan, and we'd have covered the costs for getting them from there. For example, an R32 trim piece costs US$20 in japan, in australia it'll cost about US$40... by the time you get it to the US from Australia it'll cost about US$60, and if you had gotten it straight from Japan (overnight parts from Japan dude!) it'd have cost you US$40.

I'm willing to bet there's more skylines on my street than there are in the whole of the US, so finding spare parts in Australia is gonna be pretty easy (just check out the classified sections). Convincing Australians to actually go to the hassle of sending parts to the US and waiting for payment from overseas is another matter altogether.

We are getting the next gen GT-R. Whether they'll be as readily accepted as a replacement is to be seen. Guys in the US are hankering to buy locally sold GTR's, but we're spoilt for choice here when it comes to Skylines... so its not like everyone's gonna rush out and go buy the latest one, because they're all legal here. I think the only Infiniti's we ever got was the Q45 and the 4WD whatever it was. They weren't exactly big sellers here, to a point where all the Infiniti dealerships closed down and are now only sold and serviced at Nissan.
