Apexi RSM - speed cut

Does having an Apexi RSM installed simply remove the 180km/h speed cut?

I was under the impression that it did.

After speaking with a friend i am now not sure...they recently phoned their workshop & were told that it didn't remove the limit, but they had a 2nd hand HKS speed cut defender that would do the trick. So they decided to go ahead with this option & were charged about $250 for the unit including labour.

Did they get told the wrong information ie. conned..if so is there anything they can do about it? as it is reputable company who deals in aftermarket Japanese parts who therefore should have know about the RSM capabilities without a doubt.

According to the Apex instruction manual, the speed cut CAN be removed using the RSM. No need for HKS defender or whatever. But it does depend on how it was installed, cos there is an option of removing it or leaving it as it is

You can turn it on or off via the RSM [ etc ] menu
