^ good to see that review takahashi.

currently i have toyo proxes 4 and im changing them to KU31.

the proxes 4 get noisey as they wear out (approx 15-20000km now) and the grip in the wet is not so great.

dry however it is an awesome tyre,

I have around 180-190 each to spend on 2 steer tyres... what should i go for.

ku36's i can get for around the 180 mark where the fed RSR's are going closer to 200$ are the rsr's worth the extra money or is there something else i should be looking for?

their needed for steering a drift car. Thanks.

PS the rim is a 17x9.5 would like a 225 but most likely go a 235/45 as i dont think many tyres are made in the 225.

Hey all im fairly new to all this, and i've been looking at wheels to buy.

Now I've noticed that everyone in this post that rates Federal's reckon they're really shit?!

My mate has them on his 32 and they seem to grip fine in DRY and WET

and the ride quality is great. I've driven the car and havn't had any problem with them.

Anyone got a positive opinion on them??

Not sure about Federals,

but i use four Yok advans on my gtr 245/40 all round and it grips like theres no tomorrow! road noise is shocking, and price is crunching. but launching and cornering, nothing can keep up.

Took the car to winton yesterday, the tyres did really well considering they are a street semi. They do tend to go of after a few laps though, I got 2-3 quick laps in before having to cool them down.

Awesome tyre for the street, you will never really feel the limits of these on the street. They are a liitle crap when there still cold in the wet but not really that bad considering how grippy they are. I drove up to Winton on them, did track work and drove back on them and they held up fine.

Bridgestone potenza re040

Dry: 7/10

Wet: 5/10

Conclusion: came with car. They have a lot of rubber, on stock 17's. They aren't bad in the dry, but in the wet they are fun, by that I mean, not a lot of grip. Low road noise, and they don't squeal

I will be going back to Yokohama s-drives when I get new wheels. Great tyres!

Here's my review of the 2 types of tyres iv used in the last year on my R33 GTST (300rwhp)

damn good tyre. Low road noise, no squeeling when spinning and the grip was really progressive and gave lots of feedback, esp when traction was broken and did really well to regain traction.

Toyo Proxes4- rears only 275/35/18 (fronts were still the KU31's)

Not sure how to rate these. Definately a decent enough tyre, especially for road use. However, a very noisy tyre both in general road noise and the squeel they give when they break traction. Im not sure but i do feel these are giving less traction than the 265 KU31's. However i did put these on as the weather was cooling down n we all know a warmer tyre grips better... Also the KU31's were fresh off the production line n the Proxes sat in my shed for 18 months before being put on. Not sure if that kind of age would make a difference but trying to make sense of it all as i was expecting better grip that the KU31's due to reviews and that the tyre was a bit wider.

Furthermore, when these Proxes break traction it is alot harder to reign in n regain traction than the KU31's and far less comunicative as to whats going on and what itl do next when in a big slide...

Nonetheless, for a street tyre, pretty good.

check my 0-100 test on them.

Has anyone tried the NITTO NT05 & NITTO INVO yet? How would compare to say the Kumho KU31.

The KU31's where great at the start and just hooked up off the line but once it's started to wear down traction seems to be arse. p.s. I only have 200rwkw's.

How did the KU36s get 7/10 in the wet?? my experience was they were very ordinary. I would loose traction just lightly accelerating and that was even once the tyres were warmed up.

I have changed to the falken rt615 tyres and I find them fantastic. They are as grippy as the KU36 in the dry but a lot better in the wet, even now that the tread is quite low.

what size are u running? would you say they are a wider or narrower tyre than other tyres in the same size

i didnt choose ku36 to others reviews regarding wet handling and increased noise once it starts wearing down

Just swapped over from running 3x sets of Falken 615 for the last 6 months. Got the Nitto invo. Have to say, they are surprisingly good. The 615's are very grippy as one would expect of a wear rating of 200 and being a semi. Trouble with the 615's is the time it takes to warm up on the street, not warm they are useless, especially in the wet and in a straight line, anytime. The Nitto's are grippy from cold, and yes, I expect them to go off very quickly on track. So far on the street they are sharp to turn in, very quiet, fantastic in the rain. Will be pushing them soon at wakefield so will see.

By the way, the 615's are brilliant on a fast road, Targa type drive. But my, my, my, the wear rate. I have never owned a tyre that wears that fast. Try 8- 10,000k's. I changed tyres every second oil change.

Hi Everybody,

found some KU 31s I'm after on Ebay from Teme Tyres at a great price. When I called Bob Jane to get a price and mentioned Tempe were cheaper by around 100 per tyre, they told me to be careful. At the price Tempe were asking, they were more than likely knock offs, not Australian issed, or could even be old stock by up to 4 years old. Anybody bought tyres from Tempe and can vouch for their quality?

i bought my wheel n tyre package from Tempe 18months ago with KU31's on the rims. Tyres were good and less than 6months old (checked the manufacture date oval on the tyre).

why dont you call temp n ask them what the age is on them?

As long as tyres are stored in a good environment there is no reason that 12-24months age should be a prob for them from what iv heard.
