umm Jamezilla, if ur in melbourne, theres no need to get one from that ebbro site. i've bought a R34 calsonic GTR for around $40 from Big W. For more variety u can get the same thing at the hobby shop on lonsdale st. costs you from $50 - $60. still cheaper than $70.

Turtle:

Thanks - will have to pop in next time I am in the city.

Was there a couple of months back looking at RC cars - keen for a gas powered one, but not sure I want a race-track only one :

I have got quite a few

you can buy die-cast 1:18 scale R34's from most hobby shops, as well as plastic kits. Diecast stuff is usually $80+ and the plastic kits can be had for about $30.

i currently have 5 group A 1:18 R32's, 2 1:18 R34's, 1 1:12 (huge) palstic 32 GTR and about 10 smaller palstic skylines, great fun, and they look good - they are also cheaper than the real thng

Best place to try is your local hobby store, or ebay

yer as the other guys (and gals:) ) have already mentioned, going down to your local hobby shop or even target/kmart etc.. will be the best and easiest way to get model skylines.

im pretty sure you can even get a tamiya remote control r34 (more likely from a hobby shop). you can just buy the kit without the remote which would be pretty awesome, not to mention how much fun putting together a model car is, especially a remote control car.

    • Awesome mate, sounds like an awesome car! My 33 has the 400R/Nismo front and rear bumpers and side skirts. They're in terrible condition though so I either need to fix them up or toss them and get new, standard bumpers and skirts. I wish the Nismo stuff was FRP not fibreglass as they're always one nudge away from complete destruction!
    • Thanks mate 👍 The car was brought into the UK by a USAF mechanic until he was stationed back to the US, one owner later I bought her back in 2009. Luckily the only corrosion was on the sill seams, so once taken back to metal and treated and sealed all ok, I then undersealed the car myself and check yearly and treat any corrosion which to be honest is zero. She's garaged most of the time and hardly ever driven in the rain, but as you say most are rotten unfortunately, I was lucky in finding her as she was and still is in excellent condition.
    • Stunning car.  Looks amazing!  You're in the UK?  How the hell do you stop your car rotting away beneath you?  British cars are the WORST I've ever seen in regards to rust.  Some of the cars SR Autobody have done are borderbeyond saving.
    • not a date code? or a foundry code?
    • I have up to date pics of the engine build and turbo conversion over on my instagram @skpro_jects if you want to take a deeper look.   Basically the exhaust manifold is straight bolt on and the ports match (they arent any smaller than a 25 or 26 head).    the intake ports are different shape so the 20/25det manifold will bolt up but wont match properly or seal. You will need to port match using the 25det gasket as a stencil. Personally i ran the entire stock 20neo intake setup and have configured the swirl valves and torque valve to work based on my custom parameters to help with off boost response and spool. But this is using a standalone aem v2 ecu. The stock 20det ecu wont be able to control them.
