has anyone ever fitted a bigger battery in an r33 in the same position as the standard size one is, the battery in there now is tiny and keeps going flat, so i think i need a new one but i dont want to get the same tiny one again and am not sure if a bigger one will fit???

i put a battery in the back of mine thats meant for a truck, it doesnt go flat anymore , I had to get rid of the little tray the standard battery sits in and I also had to make another clamp to hold the battery down, it was well worth it! oh it is now sitting on a old piece of rubber(an old floor mat).

or you could lash out and get yourself one of the high performance dry cell batteries. Nice and small but pack a good punch. About $300 tho.

I did just that!:P

I got one of those 870+ cca dry cells it's called an optima (yellow top). It only just fitted in the standard place of my R33 but I did have to get bigger terminals!

I bought it form "Battery World" But their not cheap @ over $400.

The reason for such a big battery you might ask? well I love BIG AUDIO. so I needed a big battery to run it and this battery has special terminals on the side of it, for the audio power connections (the idea is less induced noise from the cars electrics). Also being a dry cell they dont leak and dont give off dangerous vapours. Remember your battery is in the car with you only covered by a cloth back seat. and cardboard parcel shelf.

it also came with a two year warranty.

Yep I've gone the same route, but with an Odyessy ES12V800 (~$280-$300). The factory battery is useless - rated @ 270CCA from memory? I don't need to power a huge audio system so the ES12V800 is more than enough. It's still reasonably light too, don't want too much extra weight :P
