high ptich boost spooling sound (no boost)

hey guys,

i recently brought a r33 skyline just recently when i come on boost its a high ptich spoolin noise( thats been happenin for ages) but yea when i acutally hit boost it doesnt pull really at all..it goes to its 12psi wat its running but doesnt pull, its wired...i think it may be turbo. im goin to look right now to see if its piping but yea any help would be great..

i have this same prob in my r32 GTR. it struggles to get to 10psi but sounds like its spolling hard but absolutly no power...

yer its not hte piping... there is no way it could be engine could it? im sure it woudlnt be as the engine runs sexy...

im hopin its just a gasket or turbo got boom..who knows wat those lil japs could run

also, check your clamps on the cooler ppipiing. the stock clamps arnt too crash hot.

agreed... when my clutch was on it's way out the car would start making boost but would go anywhere... but it could be heaps of different things...

clutch slipping.. reall common problem.. try a search and see if ur symptons are the same!

turbo gasket - i got the same with my 180sx. - sounds like very sharp metal ball bearing whistle sound. its the turbo gasket.

i have a similar thing with mine, sort of, i have the noise but the turbo still pulls? i've been told that the nosie is when the turbo has over spun?? though come to think of it there is one bolt or nut missing from where the turbo bolts to the manifold??? also when my clutch let go there was no pull from the turbo, not much forward anything, but you would notice how fast it would rev out though!
