I saw a thread a few weeks back that told me everything I need, unfortunetly I can't seem to find it again. I've just imported an '89 R32 Gts-t and had it complianced. Just wondering what paperwork I will need to take with me when I go to the workshop to get the blueslip.

I have;

Import approval

Engineering certificate

Supplier invoice

Bill of lading

Is there anything else I need for the blueslip and registration?

best off asking the workshop that's going to do your blue slip. but yeah the bits above should be fine.

If this sounds rude, I apologise. You get the weighbridge ticket from a weighbridge :) Yellowpages prob have listings.

If you're taking the car to a workshop to have someone to the ADRing for you, they'll organise the wb ticket for you.

Yep the greenslip is the CTP, but just wanted to point it out cause it'd suck when you get excited on the way to the RTA just to find out you're missing some paperwork. The RTA people are (generally) poorly educated on the whole 15yr thing. I spent a looooong time politely arguing that my car doesn't need a compliance plate and the lady insisted that "it's a grey import, it HAS to have a compliance plate".

Groan.

If you search for threads started by "lwells" in this section you'll find a great thread with all the info you could ever need.

Cheers!

Mark

Okay the greenslip is the compulsory third party insurance right? Where can I get the weighbridge certificate?

so what you really want to know is what you need for rego? or what you need for blueslip? the workshop doing your compliance, or the place doing the blueslip will get the wieghbridge ticket for you.

if you are talking about rego you'll need:

supplier invoice

bill of lading

weigbridge ticket

blue slip

establishment greenslip

engineers report

VIA

money

patience

that should be it.

    • A thing I wasn’t happy with with enthusiast was during the initial phone call they told me they’d insure it for 130k but needed photos.   I then sent them photos and they told me $80k as there were other cars either similar modifications available for around that price, I told them to send me the links to said cars so that I can buy them. i then sent the modification list with prices of the parts (no labor) and the price then came to 115k, which is still shy of the 130 that was agreed in the initial phone call

    • I agree that delayed payment probably isn't the most suitable solution. It seems a solid complete transaction would be best. As I wouldn't be using this sale as a line of credit that would typically earn interest, we can probably arrange a much cleaner single transaction deal. I can do $92.52 today. Would you prefer EFT, or Cash on Pickup?  😛
    • Oh man what a deal.... Funny enough (well not really) I sold a car to some old dude (buying for his Daughter) on a Saturday, He asked if she could take the car now and pay me the money on Monday as the bank wasn't open. Needless to say I told them to come back with the cash or get f**ked! Luckily the money seemed to magically appear in his pocket a few minutes later, so it all ended well (for me).
