New clutch = strange grinding noise + clank in reverse...

yeah same prob, it's the sprung centre rattling.

The noise only gets worse.

I would take it back and tell then you have a faulty clutch plate, and ask for a new one.

I have spoken to a few people and they say when u put in a heavy duty clutch it is expected to have a different noise and be a bit louder. They say that is doesn't mean the the clutch plate is faulty, its just louder and the only way to fix it is to put in the stock clutch

i have the same clutch and the same noise and my mechanic mate said it was a noisy bearing but the car still goes perfect anyway

Ive also got the same clutch and i also have the same noise in low rpms and when i put it in reverse. Mechanic step brother told me theres nothing to worry about with the low rpm noise, just a bearing making a bit of noise.
