spiller
Hey all, new to this forum Im looking to buy an r32 very soon (have to sell my car first) and I have already ear marked two, although I have some questions to ask about each. The first car is a black 2 door GTS-t with 85,000kms. It is Automatic and is uncomplied. They are asking $6,900 for it. If i was to buy this car I would swap it to manual almost instantly, which I could get done for around $1,200. Compliance on top of that would be around $750. That takes the driveaway price of this car to $8,850. OR The second car - it is a 4 door GTS-t with 90,000kms. Silver in colour and is manual. The price on this is $7,500 uncomplied. With compliance that would take its price to about $8,500 (4 doors cost mroe to comply). I would like to mention that both cars are completely stock (which in my eyes is good as it indicates a lack of thrashing). So I am caught in two minds as to which one to decide on. I am looking for some opinions, taking into account the info I have provided on both cars. Thanks Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/73345-are-these-prices-any-good/ Share on other sites

xRHETTx
Go for the manual! You know you want it! Driving an auto is crap. Make sure they're actually eligable for compliance before you buy them though. Dee 33
That's sounds awefully cheap. You sure you can comply them for that little? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/73345-are-these-prices-any-good/#findComment-1349174 Share on other sites
slow13dude
I think compliance will be more around $1500 (it was for my R32 GTR - and there is no reason a GTR would cost more to comply than a GTST). Compliance for the 4-door would be even more because that's 2x the intrusion bars. Which one is in better condition? More importantly, do you want 2 or 4 doors? Prices seem about right. spiller
Yeah I have been quoted 750 for the compliance on the 2 door. If the upper control arm bushes ae good enough, the guy said it coud even get it done for just 450. i doubt this though. And yeah, the 4 door will be more expensive becuase of the extra 2 doors. The fact that the 2 door is an auto isnt a problem, it jsut mans i will have to swap it to manual. As for the 4 door, the only thing that puts me off it is that it jsut looks too damn plain. Plain old silver, no spoiler, and the interior is also much plainer than the 2 door. It has a different front bar to the 2 door though. I have a feeling the 4 door may be a type M? How can you tell between a type M and just a normal r32? Is the front bar any different? And what are the other difference performance wise and brakes etc? Here is a pic of each - are any of these type M? 2 door 4 door Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/73345-are-these-prices-any-good/#findComment-1349411 Share on other sites
slow13dude
Don't pay too much attention to cosmetics. Front bar you can change later Spoiler you can change later As long as there isn't any rust to worry about. Yeah consmetics dont bother me too much, its more the performance i am concerned about. I know the normal GTS-t goes quite well but i just wanna know if there are any differences between that and the type M. I heard the type M has a ballbearing turbo that boosts up harder and bigger brakes etc. What I was askig about the front bar is how do you tell if it is type M? IS that 4 door a type M, becuase its front bar looks different? slow13dude
Do a search on type M. I wouldn't worry about the turbo anyway because you'll want to change the stock turbo at some stage anyway, if only for maintenance reasons.
