Dee 33
Ordered mine. I'll let you know how it goes in direct replacement of my GFB unit running 16psi. The GFB for me is holding fine, but it spikes 1psi which sucks teh cok. siksII
yeah apparently they are quite popular with 300zx guys for a long time... they apparently call them boost jets (as told to me by my 300zx owning friend after i told him i got it!) Oosh
Just a note on patents, they cost a LOT to register, and even more to defend. Something tells me neither margins nor volumes involved here would make it worthwhile. MidnightGTR
when you going to make a 2 stage one mark with a switch for incabin? then I can trade in this one! The GFB for me is holding fine, but it spikes 1psi which sucks teh cok. Let me know how you go. I've got a GFB @ 14 psi and it's holding great till redline. I do however get a 1 psi spike. I'd be very interested to know if this one brings boost quicker. chrissso
OK, so I fitted mine today and the boost went straight over 10lbs on lowest setting.. I put mine where the t peice is that leads off to the solenoid. Is this right? Any ideas? Wasn't game to find out how high it would go... By the way, I bought my car with an upgraded FMIC, and the actuator was connected to the BOV by another t peice. Where does the actuator get its reading from in a normal R33? Before or after the throttle? I thought that it was suposed to be before the throttle body and whoever hooked mine up did it wrong. Can anyone post a pic? Thanks. simark87
Hi guys, I am giving some thought to a 2 stage but don't want to compramise on quality so it will take some thinking but I'm sure it will eventuate I hope everyone is having with there new toy, and not over boosting hehe yeah right!! I am looking at importing some intercoolers and BOV in th enear future. Keep you posted. Skyline discounts apply of course Mark Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/73375-i-found-a-good-cheap-boost-controller-for-22/page/9/#findComment-1387526 Share on other sites
FATAZZ
simark.. the diagram on the piece of paper you sent me says i should T-piece the bleed valve back to the BOV....why? mine isn't n it still runs 14psi, What are the benefits of connecting it to the BOV? please nothing to technical. simark87
The diagram is a basic explanation of connecting a BOV. Skylines and other late model vehicles have complex setups. The diagram is mostly intended for basic technology turbo charged vehicles like cordias and starions and so on... While not a skyline expert, I would say if you are having a great result from the controller as is then don't mess with it..unless of course someone more knowledgable about skylines suggests something else.. siksII
hmm thats wierd oh well maybe my friend accidentally called it the wrong thing but he definetly said a lot of the guys used this inline form of boost controller just like the one i showed him. maximum.boost
I would have thought if you're getting yourself one of these devices, the best thing for you to do is just remove the solenoid from the equation, (why have two devices that do the same thing?) connect one end of the controller to a manifold fed vacumm line and the other to the wastegate, then bobs your uncle and away you go. Sounds pretty straight forward, putting my order in today, this one will be going into my rx7, we'll see how she likes a bit of extra boost Cheers Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/73375-i-found-a-good-cheap-boost-controller-for-22/page/9/#findComment-1388143 Share on other sites
Downforce
^^ exactly right as above, but also remember to block off your factory boost solenoid (where u removed the vacuum hose) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/73375-i-found-a-good-cheap-boost-controller-for-22/page/9/#findComment-1388293 Share on other sites
