Hay guys iam thinking of installing the Rsm and Avcr when i get my car and i wast thinking of putting the AVcr under where the cdplayer is i herd they come with a lil plastic thing that is made for that spot =)

and as for the Rsm i didnt really want to put it on dash and drill holes through it etc. =)

i was thinking of getting one of those Apiler things. that hold the guauges and put the rsm in that spot? dont know if it will work but its an idea huh +)

hehe or get one custom made?

any one know where poeple make this custom plastic stuff up???

in melbourne heeh

Tell me what ya think where did ya put yours =)

and post any pics if ya hve -)

I seen one car with an S-AFC + RSM + AVC-R all pasted under each other on the glove box lid.

Let's just say that all lit up, it looked like mission control.

Houston - we have a problem!

IMO they are a theft risk so I'm tinting my windows to hide that Apex'i shit.

T.

Yeah, anything that draws attention is bad, both for the perspective of it making it more likely for theft, and the fact that if a cop pulls you over all little gizmos on the dash are going to warrant further investigation if they're in the mood.

From what i've been reading any boost controller is pretty much illegal anyway? or at least makes the car unroadworthy.

I keep most of my electronics in my glove box...out of sight out of mind... however if i did have an RSM then i prob would put that somewhere in eye sight as you do want to be able to see that one easily for obvious reason when doing times and stuff....

Having it in the glove box works for me as it is there when i do wanna check stuff out and when i don't want drunk friends to play around with it close it up and then no touchies! still enough room in glovebox for normal stuff to fit in aswell

Ive been pulled over heaps, cops didnt say anything about it, except how ca I afford a car like this and I must be a drug dealer... you know, the usual.

i'm with ex-static here....

I have my RSM on the dash... works a charm!

when I get the AFC it'll be in the single DIN underneath my stereo (as my deck is blue too)

and the AVC-R is going on the ashtray lid....*squeal*

blue boost gauge, blue dash lights... blue neons... mission control !!

I had the Apexi RSM mounted in the lid of the little box thing in the centre console. Problem was most of the time you couldn't read it whilst driving....too far from line of sight and reflection problems during day. Now it is on top of the steering column dead centre attached with hook&loop tape. It ocludes the revs from 0 to 2500 otherwise its fine .... any drunk mate who tried to reach it would be out of the car right then and there :P

hay ula32

mines on the ledge bit above the 3 centre console gauges. used double sided tape and the stand that came with it. not above the dash line, easy to read, no hassles (so far)....

what did you mean by the 3 centre console quages hehe?

does the double sided tape stick preety well? =)

here's a rough illustration...

    • Hey @Butters, did you end up getting this clutch in ? I have just ordered to a uniclutch track to go in my getrag 6 speed that’s in my BNR 32
    • I know you don't want to hear this comment, but I can't not say it.  I just can't see 200kw being worth the time and effort. Its like guys with NA cars, putting in headers/exhaust/tune for a massive 20% jump in power. Great, the slow car is still slow and you're down $10,000.  My vote is leave it NA or price in a gearbox upgrade and shoot for at least 300KW, preferably 350KW+.  Now you have a NC that will try to kill you from time to time and will be exciting to drive
    • Ah yep. The main message I want to pass on is, try not to get scared of ghosts when thinking about knock/knock detection.  What I mean is, healthy engines make noise. Knock is also noise. Your knock sensor and ECU combo are trying to determine bad noise from good noise based on how loud the noise is. The factory knock sensors and ECU are not good at doing this.  Modern ECU's are pretty decent at it, however I'd still say that you would want to verify that if your ECU says it's knock, that you actually listen to it and confirm that it is correct.  Are you familiar with the plex knock monitor?  https://www.plex-tuning.com/products/plex-knock-monitor-v3/ I expect you're the type of person that would be very keen to play with something like this. It is great knock detection and you can pop some headphones on and listen to what's going on.  Knock that you've deliberately induced in low load low RPM areas is not really putting anything at risk and is a great tuning/learning/verification tool.  I just thought this was worth mentioning based on the way you were talking about setting up a base map and the Haltech base map settings. There are better ways to spend your time then chasing ghosts and worrying about detonation in scenarios that it is crazy unlikely to encounter it.  I was also wondering, what ECU are you planning to get? Will it be long til you pick it up?
    • This came quicker than I thought. It ain't even 2025 yet.
    • I somehow quoted my post instead of editing it. I regret nothing.
