air fuel ratio running too lean??

My air fuel ratio gauge shows that at idle speed, it shows between lean and storch, however when the engine revs higher, around 3000-3500 it shows rich. Anyone know is it meant to do this or there is something wrong?? thanks

That's pretty much normal. I'm guessing you're using a normal O2 sensor? They only run 0-1v which isn't very accurate but most RB's will show rich above idle running standard management. Nissan ECU's tend to run rich which is one reason SAFC's and aftermarket ECU's show power improvements.

Your car doesn't need much fuel to idle. It's supposed to be heaps lean there. Running rich at higher revs is safe and fine.

narrowband air fuel gauges are really only good for telling you the o2 sensor is still working...
