Not to try and shoot the thing down because I think generally its a good idea to do something... but petitions I think lose their impact. A few well written letters to the appropriate people could maybe explain the situation a bit better and be more effective? Its more effort, but I think could have better results. Petition ends up becoming a bit impersonal in a way.

I think it generates a new one when it gets to 1000, because my name isn't there anymore, and I certainly signed, and all the names that are at the start of it are different to what they were.

The new SEVS laws are going to make things better for us. It will just take some time for all the crap to be sorted through. It will mean less likly event of any of us buying a badly crashed car that's been rebuilt.

Customs is currently cracking down on these and I firmly believe it's the right thing to do.

It's just these bad eggs are giving imports a bad name and taking advantage of the current laws.
