haha.. no.. he didn't have his high beams on! they are just his normal driving lights!! and you should have folded your ears in if it was bothering you! :( (ears as in side mirrors :( )

Moanie - sorry I must have missed you.

Wilch - you must have been behind me down the old pac.. Bugger sorry I missed ya! :

Also those cops you must have just missed - that bloke was the guy I spoke to at the servo on the way home - he seemed alright.

was a good cruise, i loved the twist and bends around the gorge...

aye who was that guy in front of me in the black r33 with disco blue glow stick neons, met him at the last cruise aswell....

might have to invest in a cb from dick smith...

bLK r33 gtst

I turned my lights off at one stage but I NEVER had my high beams on......

those were just my normal driving lights.......I dont know why but for some reason they are really bright....and I get flashes from people all the time who think I got my high beams on. so sorry if it distracted ya !!....should have just told me to overtake ya over the CB....

pft!!!  you lie!!!  we were cruising along old pac for a lil while in the direction of galston, when you just turned off!!!!!  so you decided to turn off!

Well, we were at the turn-off to get to the F3, and everyone was doing 40km/hr. Sl!m told me we were going to Waitara Maccas, so I took the F3 turnoff and went there (only to find out everyone was heading through the Gorge). :P

It would have been a hassle without my CB anyway, given all the changes of direction. Next time, Gadget. Next time!

Awsome cruise, i think ill have to come out with you guys/gals more often....Talk about a couple incidents, have no idea when every body broke off the old pack, i was at the front with 3 Skylines and we drove past the coppers whilst they where parked. Next thing i knew we where all alone.....turned back to find everybody (LOL thanks to all you Skyline blokes for sending the Ford out as a scout LOL) but only managed to pick up 2 other lines.

Continued down to wisemans on Mona's directions, and have no idea how i got into leading the pack, but THANKS MONA, for sending us to the WRONG side of wisemans LOL.....ill let you off though cause you caught us a ferry

Nice to meet some of you guys, put faces to nicks, and ill be sure to see you all on the next cruise.

Oh PS....the copper in the 4x4, he pulled over a 32 (from memory) and myself for "Stopping in the middle of the road". I heard him telling off the guy in the line, came up to my window and goes to me;

Copper "What the hell are you doing?"

Me "Dont know the area, im following the guys infront of me"

Copper "Why did you stop in the middle of the road for?"

Me "I didnt, i was pulling over"

Copper "YOU STOPPED!!"

Me "Mate, the guy infront of me stopped, what do you want me to do?"

At this stage the cop walked off shaking his head and cursing.....Honestly, i dont know what his problem was, personally, i didnt do anything wrong all night to get attitude from cops. I think its that kind of behaviour that gives police a bad name....just like the few that did burnouts at the end of the night give the rest of us the title Hoon's !!!!

Apparantly the cop almost hit the 32 (i think it was) behind me.....from what i was told, so yeah !!

Anyway, thanks guys for a top night,

Regz,

Dean

Oh Oh, Mintie, what the hell happened to you mate.......what did you say.... "Dean Dean, why you drive so slow for" ..... lol i didnt see you at the ferry when we pulled over till later... *wink*

yes my GT-R almost was swallowed alive by said landcruiser!

fat cop with marine corp attittude....hrrmmm that bloke must be a very lonely guy :P he should try reading... "how to win friends, and influence people" :) :)

and any police reading this forum, which I am sure you are, feel free to contact me for an unbiased write down on the series of events including the partol passing us doing 80 (90 zone) whilst she was doing 130++ and almost rolled it over the intersection (off camber, 30deg corner)

hmmm food for thought!

    • Well, in 2007 he must have been charging about $1800 an hour. He only looked at the car for 5 minutes. And another 4 to write the report wrong, and another minute to correct it. Mind you, this was for a car that was: Stock engine, fmic (hole in drivers guard), all alloy intake and custom air box, 3 inch turbo back exhaust, lowered, and a set of 17" Advans (255/40/17 rear and 235/45/17 front). It was nothing crazy. The blue slipper wanted the "hole in the guard" engineered. But that was because he got the shits that I wouldn't "relocate the battery from the boot, back to the factory position in the engine bay"... In an R33 GTST...     Also for emissions, E85, and don't go wild on timing. It's amazing how the closer you get ignition timing towards max torque, the last couple of degrees really throw NOx counts right up. And for the huge increase in emissions, it's only a small increase in torque.
    • He'll be looking down and swearing about "the damn apprentice" for trying to convince Duncan to use percussive maintenance... 😛
    • I swear at my GKTech ones every time I have to take them apart and replace a spherical. But I wouldn't swap them for anything else. They absolutely slay every other option, at least in terms of how they actually work. You sure you don't want to live with bearings? I mean, they don't have "ball bearings". They are rod ends and sphericals throughout. Tough as nuts, even though I have found more than one way to wear them out.
    • From when I was looking at getting the 86 engineered for the turbo, the joint said to put in a few euro 5 or 6 cats, then tune the car on a nice clean E85 tune When I was looking at a turbo for the MX5, it was basically the same thing, a couple of cats and a nice clean tune Although, it will depend on the year of the Jeep IRT emmisions standards required, and what mods are done, especially if it has a newer engine installed that requires a higher Euro
    • Yeah - but it's not actually that easy. There are limits for HC, CO, NOx and particulates. Particulates shouldn't be a concern in any petrol engine unless trying to comply to the very latest Euro standard. But getting a tune right so that all the others stay within limits AT THE SAME TIME is not a trivial exercise. You couldn't possibly get it right by just guessing at the tuner's dyno, unless he had a 4 gas analyser up the pipe, which is not often the case these days. It used to be. Every decent shop that did "tune ups" (as opposed to tuning) would have a 4 gas analsyer. Perhaps there's still quite a few of them around these days. But most "tuners" are only watching O2 and power readings.
