Idle Timing?

I've look at the FAQ tread with no luck, so was wondering if anyone with the workshop manual or knows wat the stock idle timing for the R33 RB25DE is. Its not the same as the RB25DET is it?

15 degrees advance, i ran mine up closer to 20 on good fuel, more advance = more power, but it may ping so be careful.

And that would translate to about 750 or 800 on the rpm? Please confirm.

Not sure what ur asking it needs to be done with a timing light, it will change the idle speed but the timing should not change with higher rpm.

The dodgy way to do it is just keep advancing till it pings then back it off a little bit.

hmmm, turn it anticlockwise or clockwise to advance it? and how much movement roughly amounts to how many degree's - i have no timing light but wouldn' mind moving it a tad see what happens

looking from the front clockwise advances it, u may well destroy your engine if u dont know what ur doing.

I would strongly suggest that you dont touch your CAS let along lift your bonnent as you have no idea.

PS. Go right ahead crank it all the way up if you want to destroy your ring lands, by the way are you one of those adults that get in at childrens prices.

yeah agreed, clockwise retards it, anticlockwise advances it. and gatty, i also suggest u not touch ur CAS

all nissans run way rich. if you get a mechanic to adjust it up to say 20 degrees you will notice the difference and if you run it on 98 octane fuel you should not get any pinging.
