Car Problem...

Recommended Posts

Hey whats up. I have been having a problem with my car. I was thinking it was my spark plugs but I just changed them out today and I am still having the problem. It seems as my boost gets to .7 my car supters like there is something wrong with the mixture. I was boosting 1 before. I have a metal headgasket, aftermarket turbine, wastegate, and many others. I also have 550cc injectors and a GTR fuel pump. I have not done any adjusting of the tuning so I dont know what is wrong. The only I have done is used on base gas which made my car run like crap. But since then I have used off base Japan Super Octane and ran fuel system cleaner threw. Any ideas? It seems like this always happens at .7 boost. Thanks for the help...

Well I fixed that problem but I have another one from something that happened last weekend =(

Well this past last weekend I checked all my plugs and coil paks to see if I could fix the spudder problem. Well I sanded down all the igniter plugs in the coil packs so I would get a even contact because before hole was burnt out of them and it wasnt in the middle. I also stretched my springs out to try and compensate for the shorter igniter plugs. Well I drove my car and it was running really good, wastegate was opening and no spudder. Then my friend thought he could fix why my car idles so high and he messed with the trottle position sensor and the idle adjustment knob on the rear of the engine. Well he messed with the idle adjustment and said that it wasnt working right and that maybe the spring inside was gummed up so I tried taking it apart and putting some choke cleaner in it. Before he said he could turn the screw and the idle wouldnt change very much, that is why I cleaned it. One other thing that was done is one of my springs broke in my coil paks so I have a spare R33 coil pak so I just used that thinking it would be alright... Well when I started to drive home after that guy messed with some of my stuff I would drive and my RPM would just drop and I would have to push in the clutch and give it a good steady push on the gas pedal or else it would die.... Even if I was just driving normal it would cut out... So I drove my car to work a couple of days and it would do it everytime I would go to and from work and it would always be in about the same place going different directions to work. Anyone have any ideas? Maybe because 1 coil pak is a R33 coil pak or maybe something else? Please help me.... Thank you =) and sorry about the novel... =)

Also how do I set my idle adjustment right? and the throttle position sensor? Is there a diagnostic I can do on it?

    • Hi guys, just after some guidance with an R34 sunroof that has stopped working correctly. It still opens and closes perfectly fine, but it no longer tilts/vents up or down. As a result, the rear of the glass now sags a bit as it drops down slightly in order to retract into the roof, but now it can't pop upwards into a flush position. I’ve probed the pins on the back of the switch connector with a multimeter and it seems like both switches (for open/close and tilt/vent) still work correctly. Any ideas on what it could be, or where I should even start in terms of diagnosing? I'm sure someone's had this issue before but I haven't been able to find anything online relating to this specific issue, most of the issues are with the seals leaking or the motor failing entirely. Thanks in advance!
    • Do you have some data like fuel pressure? It's really hard to say if you're still fighting a fuel system issue at this point. Could be something weird like the FPCM dipping out.
    • Yeah in that case, pulling the dent out. Event a very slight dent can create a lot of work filler-wise and there is a strong chance the panel won't be the factory shape when you are done (as the dent will result in a new high point created somewhere, then everything is brought up to that new high point... but the panel shouldn't be that high if that makes sense).  So you've filled and primed the panel and it is flat, why would you go back and remove the primer and add more filler?
    • Something else I have been faffing with while the car was off the road is making the AC work. Assuming the car isn't at a thermal limit the idea of having AC while waiting in line to go on track sounds delightful. I have actually been lugging around the weight of the entire system since 2018 when the RB25NEO went in without it working at all.  The main reason was in the first few events before I got around to re-gassing it the rubber hose that runs under the manifold had the factory heat wrap/sleeve fail resulting in this: ~2 years ago I purchased a complete used R32 AC line set but when I finally went to install it the line i needed was different where the expansion section is I found a local place that was able to replace the rubber section and re-crimp. They also added some modern heat sleeve to the hose Tight fit but fingers crossed this is the last physical piece of the puzzle needed
    • the top black section is bonded to the silver section with some form of rubber. I assume to isolated NVH from the box
