Different Skyline Models

Hi all I Bought a GT-R mag in Tokyo last year and iin the for sale section they not only give the model eg R32, R33 R34 etc but they use BCNR , BNR as well. I’d like to know what it all means. Thanks

But I'm pretty sure it is a number/letter code used by nissan to describe the general specs of the car

The R33, R34 etc are just part of the full model code. ie BCNR33 (R33 GTR),

ECR33 (R33 GTS25t), BNR34 etc.

I guess most people just use the R33 R34 as it is shorter than the full model number.

Ok, codes go like this:

1st letter = engine size:

B = 2.6L

E = 2.5L

H = 2.0L

? = 1.8L (R32 GXi only)

2nd/3rd letter(s) = optional stuff:

C = HICAS

N = ATTESA AWD

Note that the R34 GTR's seems to drop the 'C' designation (so they are BNR34), despite the fact that they have HICAS.

R32/33/34 = R (Skyline) series chassis and iteration.
