I have purchased some 42mm stainless extractors for my RB26. On inspection I found the turbo outlets to be alot larger than std manifold(about 10mm). Feeling inside the std manifold you can feel the deliberate angle to reduce the oulet side. I have 2530's fitted which have an exhuast inlet size 3 or 4mm bigger than the Std housing , but, alot smaller than my new extractors still. Nissan have obviously designed there manifold for higher gas speed. I would have no issue's enlarging the std manifold slightly to match the 2530's however I am reluctant to enlarge the turbine inlet to match my stainless extractors and risk increasing lag... Has anyone been in this position before?

Interesting subject, as i'm about to fit stainless manifolds to my gtr as well but do not have the turbos off at the moment to compare them to the manifolds. You might be better served by having the manifolds welded slightly and then die grind them to match the turbo housing. Just a thought, instead of altering your nice turbos.
