Leaking clutch master cylinder may be pumping oil back down the pedal. Have you got a hydraulic clutch?...lol

Maybe time for new cylinder....

:werd: master cylinder for sure :D It runs straight down the line to the pedal

Probably the seals are farked, so it only leaks when you press the clutch, and only if you had fluid in the first place :)

BTW off topic but I watched a friend spend the whole day today trying to change his master cylinder, it is a bitch of a job in a gtir :)

You can get a kit ( rubber seals ) but you will find the master cil will be pitted inside so it may work for a liitle while then leak again . Just get a new master cil put in and bleed it .

Duncan , you think master cil is hard to do on the gtir ? Ever tried to do a clutch on a gtir ?
