Hi All,

ok, ive been trying to read up on this as much i can, and cant get clear cut answers.

has anyone got a bolt in jap roll cage andra or even better cams approved?

(i presume a cams cage will be good enough for andra as long as it has the side bars parallel with the two doors etc.)

is there any problem? or it cant be done etc etc?

thanks

Michael

A bolt in jap cage will never be CAMS approved.  1/ the diameter of the metal is smaller, and 2/ CAMS require a homolgated design with the manufacturer guaranteeing.

your wrong about the diameter is fine it will pass testing if you modify the jap ones slightly, which means removing the rear arms and bolting them or welding them to the chassis, and removing the front side intrusion bars and replacing with their special design ones, costing only a few hundred bucks to do.

Shultzy passed our cage with flying colours.....custom cro-moly welded in job though! Burnt a $2500 hole in my wallet too!

Sorry but I disagree.. All Jap bolt in cages use too narrow a diameter for CAMS approval and they are not homologated.

Of course they may be legal for ANDRA's more lax rules :)

Yeah custom weld in cages are damn expensive, we paid $1800 for a mild steel one, but they make a hge difference to rigidity in the car, great for quicker cornering :)
