There not the same but do fit.

The VL fan sits closer to the motor and is very very close to fouling the harmonic balancer.

I've been running one on my R32 basically since I got the Rb30DET in.

Its only temporary as I'm going to bolt up a set of new EL twin thermo's, they are $190 bran new.

New the clutch assembly can be picked up for $140 odd. Simply unbolt the fan and bolt it on the new clutch and your off.

I bought a second hand clutch & fan from a jap importer for $70, it only lasted a year before it began leaking and not locking correctly.

You must have what they call the R31/VL Turbo clutch.

Apparently the VLT & R31 clutch is the same as the R32/R33.

Its listed as the same on the packaging.

The normal N/A VL clutch is different (smaller) you will be unable to simply swap over the blade/fan.

its strange how the aftermarket fan clutch manufacturers seem to think the VL turbo's have the bigger clutch/fan unit. i've only ever seen vl's with the smaller 7 blade fan.

i've never seen this, and considering that the std vl (same as n/a) one is only about 10mm at most from the bottom of the radiator shroud, i dont see how anything bigger can fit on a vlt?

weird...
