what about Evos that come with fmic standard ????

cause more injuries ???? what about the massive bullbars hanging off 4WDs ????

im pretty sure they would do A LOT more damage then a fmic will in the event of an accident.....but oh well what can we do hey ??

good luck getting them cleared...

Next time give em a run 4 ur money we need more police chases.I have escaped twice. Floor it & turn corners!

That has got to be one of the most stupid posts I've ever read.

Do us all a favour and sell your Skyline before you kill someone.

Seriously...it's people like you who give the rest of us a bad name.

Are all BOV illegal ? i didnt know they were illegal

Venting to atmosphere BOV's are considered illegal because of the increased noise they make. Thats what the RTA inspector said. However if you have a plumback BOV these are theoretically not illegal because they are not noisy. So no not all BOV's are illegal.

Same goes for pod filters, these are deemed illegal also because of the increase noise they make from induction roar.

Front mount intercoolers, well thats just bull, unless they protrude outwards from the front bar, so if they are sticking out past the front bar they would be deemed illegal. Just like rocket launcher rod holders or extra lights on a 4wd bullbar cannot now stick out past the bullbar.

Fog lights on during daylight hours is a gay rule. How many cars do you know of like Volvo's have lights on, from the factory during the day as this is deemed safer so why these are illegal I don't know other than to raise more revenue.

My advice would be to cop it sweet from the cops then debate the issue later, even go to an engineer to get your mods approved and keep the engineer report in the car, then stick it in the cops face "without" saying anymore.

Ride height is a min of 100mm. Its must be able to pass over a 100mm object from front to rear under the car otherwise its deemed illegal so yes you have to be able to drive your car over that object without touching.

Hope this helps

Cheers

ok.. just saw R2HKS' post! oops!

about the fmic.. i was defect for mine.. the reasons are for what R2HKS has said, plus because it can change your emissions levels.... i was told to pass an emissions test to keep fmic....

what happen to freedom of speech if u wannna lay down n die then do so ,me im gonna fly .Old tmer can u remember y u bought a skyline?

Good thing there is no protection for free speech in Australia (except parliamentary privledge, but I'm guessing that probably doesn't apply to you).

LW.

There is no freedom of speech on this board. And many others. If the mods don'y like what you said they'll delete it. I am surprised Nick hasn't yet.

Yeah I'm starting to realise this now. I'm new here this is only the second thread I have posted in and the 1st thread I posted in Bel Performance vs Croydon's Racing Development in the NSW forum has now been deleted. That's just weak, apol's for the

Cheers

    • After using a protractor for an actually accurate assessment of what is required,  and by NOT using my uncalibrated eyeball I worked out I need a 25° silicone bend from the TB ro the MAF, but, my choice was either a 30° or a 23° (23° is a weird spec), so I grabbed the 23° one from Raceworks I also grabbed 1mtr of 3" straight from Just Jap, I needed 350mm, but they only had 300mm, or 1mtr lengths....meh Also ordered a 1/2" hose bulkhead fitting from fleabay, this has a smoothish mushroom looking head (they are designed for below the water line of boats) that will fit inside the bend, the hose bit and threaded bit looks to long, but nothing that a hacksaw cannot fix if required, the hose will then just get jamed on the threaded bit up to the retaining nut Fingers crossed and the unsightly amount of hose clamps will be reduced down to 4 once all the parts arrive
    • Oil change does not trigger code 21. Code 21 is for coilpacks primary side connection. You can try to clear the code with a battery disconnect, hold down the brake pedal to drain capacitors through the brake lights with the ignition on for 10-15 seconds before you reconnect the battery. I have seen R35 coil conversion permanently cause this code with no ill effects so it might be the resistance it wants to see isn't quite right on one or more coilpacks. Could be inside the ECU, could be the harness, could be a coil. You can test it all if you want or just ignore until the car actually starts misfiring.
    • I forgot you have a Nistune ECU. Use Nistune to do all the tests I mentioned instead of faffing with 30+ year old electrical connectors. You can read MAF volts off that too, there are reference values in the service manual to tell you roughly what it should be in different conditions.
    • No. I think it might be the AFM. Hence the use of the terms "swaptronics", which implies the use of swapping out electronics for the purpose of diagnosis. It's about the only way to prove that a small/niggling/whatever problem with an AFM or a CAS or similar is actually caused by that AFM/CAS/whatever. A known good item swapped in that still gives the same problem is likely to be caused somewhere else. They're all the same. Spraying AFMs with cleaner is an each way bet between cleaning it and f**king it.
    • Oh wow! This might actually work amazingly. Do you know the ratio of the diff? I was told the only thing you need to make sure of is if the front & rear diff ratios are the same. Ours is a 4.083 Thanks!
