compliance plate

hi guys,

im currently getting my car complied and am just trying to track down the compliance plate.

whats the name of the organisation where the compliance plates come from? its over in canberra isnt it?

I can get the phone number for you, but I wouldn't waste your time. Unlees you know someone personally over there they won't give you the time of day. Most dealers over here spend years getting to know some of the people in Canberra, just so they can get plates back quicker.

It is usually better to wait and see. Takes about 2 weeks, how long have you been waiting?

The papers were sent on Wednesday....

It might be a miracle and they could magically send it to me soon :D

Hi Guys,

I'm helping Justin off-forum, to avoid naming names, but for the rest of you the following may be useful.

The actual compliance plate itself comes from Niddery Nameplates in NSW, once you have approval from Canberra then it should only take 3-4days. You will need the CPA No., which is the compliers number, and the chassis number of the vehicle, in order to findout details.

Hope that helps people. The plates are only created once approval from Canberra has been granted.

Or is there another improval needed by Canberra

Once the form has been OK'ed by canberra, then you can send off for the compliance plate, they are two separate things. One is the form detailing that your car meets the austrailian standard and granting permission for the compliance, the other is the plate to attach to your car, but it can't be applied for without the form from canberra.

It is usually canberra that drags there feet.

Yes, I believe they are separate, as you will need to quote the approval number on the form to get your compliance plate.
