i am purchasing a guard roller. just seeing if there is much demand for it

Recommended Posts

hey people, ive decided to purchase a pro guard roller. ive used one quite a lot in the kustom shop where i worked. i need my guards rolled and have a heap of mates cars to do. its an average price charged. if anyone is in need to have there guards rolled let me know, roller should be here in about 2 weeks. this is the only way to to a good job, normal pannel beaters use a hammer and dolly, u could imagine what this dose to your paint. the roller dosent leave a mark if done properly.

i will service brisbane and gold coast mainly and will do other areas as well, normal price is $50 per guard, will offer a 10% discount to SAU members and 15% for SAU members that come to me. as i spend half my time in brisbane and the other half on the gold coast.

I'm interested!

What can you provide as a guarantee that the paint won't crack, damage the panel or any thing else.

I'm sure some other people here would like their rides done but would like some assurance that they will receive a professional job.

im sorry but i cant guarantee that the paint won't crack, it depends on what is under your paint, if there is any bog, well i can tell u now there is an 80% chance it will, if there is bog u can tell on the spot after checking your guards. if there is no bog, then your pretty safe a good 99% chance nothing will happen. 1% as there is a risk in everything, but u can tell if the paint is going to crack before u go to far.

the drama comes in when u start pumping the guards. it can be done and ive done a few cars like that, can pump guards up tp 25mm, but costs more due to time. there is a risk with it though. i will be rolling and pumping my guards about 25mm and will take before and after shots during each process.

it all comes down to the way you approach the job, be professional take every precaution and advise the owner if there is a risk of the paint cracking then if the owner is happy to take the risk of cracking then nothing can be said if the paint cracks.

saying this, i have done about 15 cars, and only 1 was a problem because it had bog. i told the owner and he told me to continue. it cracked slightly but was right under the guard.

all i can do is be honest with you guys.

How much will it be???And can you do my other cars???If you can, I got six cars for you

Car #1 Skyline R33 GTS-T but with GTR side all round

Car #2 Skyline R33 GTS-T with normal body

Car #3 Mit Lancer EVO 8

Car #4 Toyota Corolla Sportivo

Car #5 Skyline R32 GTS-T also with GTR Guards all round

Car #6 Skyline R34 GTT 4 door already have a aftermakert wider front and rear guard but not fat enough

ive used the gaurd rolling machine on many occasions, and there is no gaurentee that the paint wont crack, even with no bog there is still a chance of cracking the paint especially where there are screw holes and so forth, after he first few attemps to get the gaurds rolled proffesionally i went and saw my riend the panel breater and he did it with a lead hammer and it was 100 times beter. just my 2 cents.

mate i dont care what your opinion is i didnt ask for anyones so if u dont need my services THEN DONT POST, this my own personal work that i do to help people out and to make a little extra cash. i dont need your 2 cents.

Unfortunately Luke this is a public forum in which you have created a public thread... If someone wants to offer their opinion, they are quite entitled to...

If you want to keep other peoples opinions out of it go and start this same thread in the For Sale section and see how long it lasts in there...

i Apologise for my last post, im just trying to help other people on here. yes we all have opinions on everything, im a Professional operator, and ive been honest with everyone with what the risks are, so they allready know what can happen, but done right the end results are perfect, ive done plenty of cars, some of which have been trophy winning cars, and have had there guards rolled ofter being painted.

all i can say is the results speak for them selves. i will post photos of cars i will be doing in the next few weeks, then we all can visually see the results.

    • Well, I'm not clicking on a link to f**king bookface (never have, never will), so I can't really know what the complaint here is about, but.... There's nothing particularly wrong with forcing people to have a higher license category to drive super/hypercars. Note that the laws are not about modified cars - only listed standard cars, because there are not supposed to be cars modified enough to meet the law's category limits anyway. If you have a modified car that falls into those power limits you're already in trouble anyway. What is wrong is the bullshit on-line "test" to get the upgrade, instead of any actual work and training.
    • Meh Don't have Facebook anymore but watched a YouTube about it, they also talked about them not being able to use and "sports" modes, not really sure how they would enforce that apart from logging the Db for the cars that have exhaust valve activation in sports mode Apart from all the high end sports cars and supercars that make the sort of power they are talking about standard, I cannot see it bothering anyone else, unless of course road side tests now include having a dyno and scales on site to test the power output vs weight What is it? 500hp per ton? And if the only additional cost is $60 or so, as the video stated, I cannot see that being a war stopper for the people that outlay a few hundred thousand dollars on a performance car In fact, I see it would be a ego boost for some, because they have a "special" drivers licence for a "special"person with a "special" car And if I did have a modified car that made over the limit, there's no way in hell I would apply for a "special" licence, I could see the authorities checking your licence against your rego, so if old mate applied for a licence, but owns a, say, R33 Skyline, that may trigger an inspection of said car as to why, and how, that old mate has a R33 that would fit the bill of making over 500hp per ton Again, meh, not something I believe will be a real issue to 99.9% of people

    • Hi, I'm a new member who has been lurking for a while. Ive been looking to buy an R32, 33 or 34. GTT/GTST for some time now. I'm close to pulling the pin on one,. My question is around roadworthy certificates in Victoria. What can you get away with as far as mods go?  Would a car pass RWC with a haltech dash, aftermarket manifold and high mount turbo as long as ride height and noise was ok? I come from a muscle car background, I'm learning more about our beloved Skylines as I go. I don't want to drop my savings on something to find out I need thousands to get it on the road. Cheers for any input/advice.
    • The first year I did Putty Road I was driving the old Honda Jazz work car. Being the rear vehicle of the 2nd or 3rd group to make sure no one got lost. The GTRs in front couldn't work out how I "was with them in the twisties"... They didn't like it when they found out I was only cruising and chilling in the Jazz like it was a Sunday drive with my Nan in the car.
