how long does it take to have 1 sent out?

Depends if you are waiting for the group buy or wish to purchase individually.

I have 2x 040's and 1x 044 due to arrive mid next week.

Once here I can have them express posted as soon as money has cleared.

Its pretty easy to install, I have read the DIY for the 981 is this similar???

Yep, the 040 is an intank pump. The 044 can also be mounted intank.

040's are pretty easy to install and the DIY guide is a good reference for instalation.

Main difference is the 040 doesnt have a 'sock' connection but has an open end filter. It is recommended to mount the 040 as low as possible on the cradle so as to pick up better at the bottom of the tank.

You can secure the pump to the cradle with hose clamps and to help lessen noise, use rubber inbetween the pump and clamp and cradle.

Not sure whats the best rubber to use though? I used rubber fuel hose cut in half for mine.

bob it is basically the same as a 984 except as pointed out there are hose ends at both ends of the 040, so you won't need to buy the adapters (to make a hose end) for the top of the pump. just hoses and clamps to fit the hose ends.

The 040 has only got a hose end on the outlet side(top).

The inlet side is an open end filter.

The pic in the first post is of an 044.

As you can see the inlet side has no hose connection so to the best of my knowledge a sock cannot be attached.

That is why if installing an 040 it is recommended to place it as low as possible on the cradle to avoid surge due to a low tank and/or cornering.

are these things easy to install? i saw with the warlboro pumps u have to solder and shit... is this jus a direct replacement? 040 is the one..

Easy to install. no soldering required. direct replacement.

I had a 32 gtr but blew it up and yes its all going into a vl but im looking for some advice from some RB nuts on pros and cons on putting a 26 head on a 30 bottom end is it worth it Works are as follows Head -Extensive porting 1mm oversized supertech valves Supertech double springs Supertech valve guides Supertech titanium retainers Tomei solid lifters Tomei 270 x 10.25 cams Head drain Bottom end series 2 rb30 block Cp ceramic coated pistons Eagle rods Romac balancer Oil restrictions  O ringed blah blah spent a fortune And will get a girdle because the 30s arent used to handling that much rpm Nitto billet oil pump Hypertune plenum 6boost mani Refurbed astra pump thats the cover for it in the boot I did have a precision 6262 but sold it because drag car life. Currently building the ass end full 4 link floater rear end with a 2 speed  But the dilemma i have is my mate rekens I should just stick with the 30 head for reliability. Has any one had any issues with mounting the 26 head ie compression blowing gaskets etc. Just looking for some advice from people who have gone down this route. Here's some photos. Blew the oil pump in the gtr and decided to rip the motor out at the time and do a full build only to find it had been a repairable write off so went down this path.

    • lol no cats running str pipes … might put the high flow back on but I suspect it might effect my ignition timing a bit. 
    • That looks a bit like yellowing to me. If the rear bar was looking like that from rich idle, I'd ask the question, do you have a catalytic converter fitted, and fully working?
    • Oh yeah gets really bad down here. I’ll have to upgrade the heater and wind screen wipers as well for optimal performance.
